Several Bethel brothers in their 50's and 60's never married.
Several brothers in this area in their 50's and 60's never married.
It is hard to stay single because the single sisters are very aggressive and married sisters are always try to matchmake.
Some brothers have so many quirks though that even desperate single sisters won't take them on.

When I kid there was a CO who was single--last I heard he still is.

Well, anyway. [cough!] So, um...yeah.
And a CO, John Francis Aleé, last I heard he was in Arizona...irons his underwear...likable fellow, but...he irons his underwear. If you know the show Monk on the USA network, not half as bad as Monk but very...quirky.

I gasped when I read your post. Emshawf (I don't know the spelling either, but I know there was an "f" sound at the end. He was our DO. He had chiclet teeth and talked in an up and down sing song voice. He was single when he died recently. Interestingly, he dated Teresa Graves long ago, who was on Laugh In, and they almost got married. I don't know why it didn't work out, but I found him quite interesting.
I knew this one elder, a freakin know-it-all type that was a total a-hole. As far as I know he is still single.
He became an elder in his early thirties, something like 32 or younger even. Boy did that go to his freakin head.

I knew of a CO, last name Skinner, who came straight out of MTS and into the Circuit work. I think he was 28 or 29. He always had flocks of young eligible sisters following him around at assemblies.
