Alternate endings ...? How appropriate. I learned a lot just now. And I have some other good recommendations, too.

Does anyone know if the DVD has both endings ?

Elsewhere, hey...ya' want butterfly farts or rabbit farts ? You choose...it could be the end of the world as you know it...heheh!

You didn't say if you really REALLY believed this or not.

I think that the lots of which you speak, really are code for Lot, as in wife of Lot. That Lot. Not lots, property.

    Lot, you know that guy...

Yeah, I think if you think about this a little more, you'll see what I mean.

ELvis told me. Elvis likes me, I'm from Egypt. Memphis Egypt.

Well, not ME. But Cleopatra. That's who I was in my former life. SO, Elvis, likes me, because I am Cleopatra.

I'm serious. Believe it or not, no skin off my back.

It was an awesome movie. Which ending did you see? The baby in the womb, or the meeting on the street ending? I prefer the meeting on the street ending myself.

    meeting on the street ending.

I saw it on Starz one evening. I thought it was really well done.

i think the movie was inspired by the Sci Fi short "The Sound of Thunder" where a guy goes back to a jurassic safari and shoots a T- Rex. But as he disobeys instructions not to leave the insulated pathway. When they return to the present, everything is different.

In the mud under his boots is a crushed butterfly. In spite of his pleadings, the man is sent back and shot.

    Hi Rabbit,

I didn't see the movie, but the idea of how an event can drastically change a life is very interesting. That's part of the reason I liked the Back to the Future movies, as well as the TV series Quantum Leap with Scott Bakula.

The version I saw was the 'meeting on the street', now I 'd like to see the other one, too.

Quantum Leap was one of my favorites, too. The 'what if's' can drive ya' crazy if you're not careful, but, if it makes some people curious and more thoughtful -- that's a good thing.

Haven't seen the movie, but it would likely make me cry. I live like every action makes a difference (it's HARD to do), but I believe the underlying theory is flawed. In reality, a small action here or there does not have a SIGNIFICANT impact on the sands of time. I truly believe if I stopped baking cookies tomorrow, another cookie-baker would rise in my place. People tend to fill in gaps, like water and sand.

So I guess it's the noble futility of making a difference that makes me want to live a vital life. Throwing starfish back in the sea.

May all your children be restored to you, Rabbit, surrounding you with love.

it's kinda cool touches on memories and playing god and cause and effect
and destiny and sacrifice and sort of sez no matter whut details, people are who people are at the core
at least in the directors cut

the theatrical cut kinda leaves things open to possibility
