I NEVER EVER carried JW related stuff when not in service. I would have been caught dead before I would have even thought of speaking to people at school. Yeah, I was one of those "scared of the world" dubette.

Even when I wholeheartedly believed it and was a pioneer, I never said anything about it outside of service. Honestly even with my dub friends, we never talked about it.

I guess I was "on" pretty much of the time. I didn't drag a bunch of tracts or mags around with me...nor did I walk around with a Bible in my purse, but I had little problem discussing my faith if the subject turned to religion. I liked giving an "informal witness" because, to me, it was just a natural conversation instead of the door-to-door sales approach of regular service.
After a while, though, I tapered off as I wasn't very happy as a JW and couldn't honestly wish the sort of life I was living on anybody else.

On. I felt it was my responsibility. I think of all the people I "witnessed" to.
I keep wanting to go back to them and tell them what is going on now, I have just had a lot going on.
Probably come spring and the weather is a bit nicer, I'll stop by.

I was always on, you know the young spiritual sicko... I was carrying a bible in my pocket everywhere with "booklets" (hope this is the right word in english) in it. At the High School I theres was a month I gave 5 books and 3 "Brochures" (like the "waiting" one). In my locker I had tons of books and I was always creating occasions to talk about the Truth. ps : Finally-Free, you made me laught with your service(TM) how do make the Trademark symbol? Genesis

Not really, I was only enthusiastic for about a year, but even at that I did not feel a desire to prove everybody wrong and "teach" them the truth.

Born and raised into it, so don't think I ever latched on, just did the JW thing because that is all I knew. IN school, simply because I didn't do 'worldly & pagan things' was information enough to let people know I was a JW. I went through school pretty quiet, just hoping no one would talk to ME. When we would go door to door, I always wanted my 'door partner' to take the next house.

Only when in service and then as little as possible. Was'nt real sure I believed it myself and was in it for forty years, but I knew nothing else.Ferret

Nop, only in the service.
never gave any oportunity-whitessing. Even when I still believed all in dubland, I was shy to speak to workmates etc.

I was born in so my parents forced me out in field service. I never gave a rats ass and was totally embarassed even as a child to be out peddling. When I got older I would go out with a sympathetic co-conspirator and we would walk up to doors and pretend to ring the doorbells, then mark them down as not at homes.
