I like to point out to people- lets assume Josephus was not spuroius, so what?

he was not even born till, what 36ce and did not write this until after 51ce, so what was he saying that mattered?

was Josephus quoting an eye witness? no record

was he an eye witness, no.

was the Jesus myth popular? yes

does his quoting a myth mean there was a real person behind it? obviously not

Well written, Terry. A spear into the mind that can kill a god with laughter. Which is how it should be.

I remember how painful it was for me to come to realize that my then (not zen) master Jesus Christ, likely did not exist. It was a difficult time. Yet, the death of gods and significance separate and far away, can give rise to realization of what is endlessly closer.

lol Terry - I'm glad mine isn't the only bookshop that gets people like that!!

I get the ones who insist that the AV Bible is the only one approved by God and occasionally proceed to tell other customers as well as me, in fact I'm probably going to burn in hell for daring to stock other translations!

Hey minimus I just discovered that Terry's posts are perfectly configured for me to hit the mousepad on my laptop once to move on one sentence at a time! Cool!

It think the blank space is for notes, like an assembly program, or the pioneer school book. Thoughtful, really. :-)
