What kinds of JW literature do you see in the second hand stores? I often come across copies of the NWT. Recently, I saw a Live Forever book. I had no clue what to do with it. Should I buy it and burn it to keep the "Good News" from ruining people's lives, or leave it there?

I keep my eyes open for really old crap. Never know when a Rutherford or Russell book might show up.

I was doing business witnessing one day and was perusing a second hand shop while I waited to witness to the shopkeeper. I noticed a "live forever" book on the shelf and managed to work it into my presentation, recommending that the shopkeep have a read. I was a good little dub alright. Sincere, but so very sad and foolish. Seems like a lifetime ago now.

I once saw an old watchtower book in a Lazyboy showroom...it was being used as a prop.

I have also seen old watchtower books in second hand stores, but not often.

Usually I check to see if there is a name on the inside. If not, it's probably someone who had the book Placed™ with them eons ago and stuck it in their basement for several years before deciding that it was time to get rid of some clutter that wouldn't sell at yard sales.

That makes me laugh. I've seen lots of 1968 Truth™ books, and one Live Forever™ book. I almost bought the Live Forever™ book because it was the original edition with the seductive pic of the lady that was replaced in the reprint... but then I thought I could spend the $2 on something worth while.

A couple of years ago, there used to be copies of the awakes and watchtowers at the local libraries book shop. They each had 10 cents written on them with black permanent marker.

That same library had the Proclaimers book (The thick green book with "Jehovah's witnesses" on it for those who dont remember) and mankind's search for god. It used to have all these other books that were clearly apostate, but i never took them out. I went to the library last week and noticed that all of the books (save the proclaimers book) were gone

I saw a "Studies in the Scriptures" set in a small bookstore in my area. I've also seen tons of the publications at a yearly book sale put on by the local community. Eveybody donates books and they sell them for pennies. It is almost garunteed that you will find a bunch of JW books there each year. The funny thing is they allways look just as new as the day they where printed.

I found The Finished Mystery in Romanian for $2.00

LOL - Not sure what to do with it now because I can't read it.

The wife and I spotted some Watchtower music records in a Salvation Army store a while back. The wife bought them, brought them home, and we destroyed them.

I find many old W.T. books and bibles in second hand book store, too. I buy them only if I need them for my research.

Hey Nosferatu, I know where I can get my hands on a 'Salvation" book, 1939, and a "Deliverance book, 1926.

My wife and I were on a vacation at Depoe Bay in Oregon when we decided to nose around a used book store. I came across a 'Knowledge' book. I noticed that it looked like a replacement for the Truth book. I bought it, for an absurd $7, so I could see what the current looniness is.

    - I noticed that the looniness had not so much changed as it had become watered down.

    - A dubbie saw me reading it on the beach and approached our group to see what hall we were from.

That book sparked me to look online where I started finding out things that are still causing my jaw to drop to the desk.

I actually found one of those a few years ago, so I bought it. I still have it to this day.

I'm not looking for any for research purposes. I just wanna make a quick buck on ebay ;)
