Hmm. Nothing realistic man. You're going to have to decide what you want to do eventually. Might as well be now.

We can't stop here....this is bat country..

You're in a tight spot bro. You live in a neighborhood full of nosey witnesses. You work with witnesses. You can't exactly just fade away as easily as some people. My advice to you is to just start looking for a better paying job AWAY from the dubs. Save some money and moveout of the territory.

This is a good area where I live. I've never had a witness knock on my door. (knocking on wood as we speak)

Then you have the problem of the only people that you know are dubs. I'll help you out as much as I can. You'll meet new friends thru work and such. I'll take you out clubbing when I can. We'll fix this, it's just gonna take a little time.

Your brother has it right. This is not the time to rush off madly in all directions. Stop. Think. Strategize.

You cannot remain economically dependent on the Witnesses, so you have to find another job. try to find a job that gets you out of the neighborhood, then find yourself a place to live that is on the OTHER side of your new job, just to put even more distance between you and the old territory.

The biggest difficulty can be the social one - how do you fill your soon-to-be-nearly-empty social circle? Generally speaking, although it is good to be friendly with the folks you work with, (ESPECIALLY CHIX) it is not real good in the long run if they're your only friends. Are you thinking about going back to school? Maybe you can squeeze in just one night class at the local Community College, but that is a good start, and it will help you find new friends.

Go back to school in the evening and get a different job during the day. Move into a place with security...visitors have to be buzzed in. Get an answering machine and caller ID. Always be on the way out if necessary when you can't avoid them. Make sure you control the conversation. Practice answering specific questions that you think may come up or others have posted here that will come up. Just be busy...

Hi Slayer's Brother! Nice to see families on the board. I've read alot of your posts lately.

I don't think excuses are a good idea but I'm really not too familier with your situation. My husband and I just left, walked away. Sounds like that isn't possible for you right now. I don't know exactly what you can say to those who are asking but they probably know you aren't really sick. I think I'd just tell them I'm taking some time off to work through a problem. Probably wouldn't work but you wouldn't be lying.

Good luck and I look forward to reading more!

You guys aren't gonna believe this but when I got home today, there were two tracts in my door. I guess I didn't knock on wood hard enough.

Of course, any dubs reading this will think it's Jehovah's hand or some stupid nonsense I'm sure.

Ummmm, how about, the dog ate my Watchtowers? No? How about, I have amnesia and I don't know where the Kingdom Hall is? No? How about, my VCR is broke down and I don't want to miss my favorite TV shows?
