In fact the Instructions on page 6 of the Feb KM insert state quite clearly that "Read and briefly discuss as many cited scriptures as time permits. All Paragraphs both in the main text aand in the appendix, should be read." On 13 weeks of the schedule which runs from April 17th to January 1st 2007, there is material from the appendices allocated to be studied.

I suppose it will seem easier after the Daniel book. I know how people felt after they finished the Daniel book the first time and went on to a less "prophetic" easier book. I won't need the schedule since I don't attend meetings any more. But thanks, Stilla.

I know - slightly off topic but I appologize - most JWs will be happy about the switch to "familiar material" - basic doctrine in the Teach book. Most do not like the Daniel Book because it is a struggle for thos who do not like history - which is most people. The bit about Antiochus and Seleucus and all the intrigue and the King of the North and the King of the South constantly changing has many brothers with a glazed look in the eyes. Even the study conductor struggles and the reader does also with the pronounciations of names and the correct sense stress

Is it too late to share this pronunciation guide?

Maybe it can be used when the WTS studies the Daniel book a third time.

A typical study question in the Daniel book: What is pictured when Daniel prayed against the wishes of the Babylonian government? The governing Body released from bondage to Babylon the Great in 1919. What is pictured by Daniel in the Lion's den? The governing Body released from bondage to Babylon the Great in 1919. What is pictured by Daniel farting in the palace? The governing Body released from bondage to Babylon the Great in 1919.
The answers aren't that hard.

Wasa, then the JWs in the book studies I attended were singularly slow. Every time a question was asked the conductor would look around and then at me and I would answer. Another sister would paraphrase the paragraph and then it was on to the next paragraph. It could be that no one every prepared too.

Blondie,
I know the feeling. Its just that the whole 1918/1919 business is a mantra. It fits everything. All they have to do is parrot that little phrase, sing it for that matter, and they are home free. The sound of crickets could be heard most of the time when questions were asked. Hated that book, it was a history lesson on drugs. The drugs of course being the hubris of the GB.
I'm sure the conductor was grateful for your dilligent answers. Even a wrong answer would have helped in those desperate moments after the question was asked!
Always hated that book because it appeared complicated but was a piece of biased propaganda perpetuating the power structure of the F&DS.
