i agree with serendipity, she is your mother and some day you may have to take care of her. you need to love her but go on with your life and make wise decisions.

back in the 70's many of the jw's went in to deep debt buying expensive homes and cars thinking they would never have to pay for them.
I heard that too. Also...lots of people, my parents included..... sold everything because they didn't think they were going to need anything.

At 17, what are your college plans? Perhaps if she watches you go through a couple of milestones that she never thought would be here, she might wake up.

I know its odd she thinks so short term, i wish she wouldn't.
Looking forward, if it needs me to support her i gladly will. Hopefully come that point in life she might see for herself what she is in!
