Did any of you hear ever recieve counsel for wearing brand name clothes, such as T-shirt logos, designer sneakers etc?
Have you noticed in the WT and Awake! publications, no one ever wears Levi's, baseball caps or sneakers?

I'm pretty sure I recall art in the publications where kids were wearing caps, tshirts, jeans and sneakers.
I also never heard of anyone receiving counsel for wearing fadish clothing, though there were talks about it on occasion advising not to follow fads. I never heard anything about not wearing name brands though.
When I was growing up I couldn't afford brand name clothes.
Yes my son was wearing a Montreal Canadians winter jacket.(That's a hockey team)
And was told not to wear it anymore.

I'm right there with ya. I think I owned one pair of Jordache jeans and never a pair of Guess.
Not a lot of brand names around here unless you managed to find them at a used clothing store.
Dams ( counseled for skirts being too long, not wearing pantyhose or a slip and *gasp* sandals )
The "following along with worldly fashions" line was what I got from my parents for having very plain, cheap clothes. A lot of clothes I had to wear were from garage sales, hand me downs from UNCLES and if I had to have something it was purchased at Kmart.
Ugh.
At bethel we were told not to wear clothing with logos or adds.

You were counselled for having too long of a skirt?!?! Was the pervert elder pissed that he couldn't stare at your legs or something?

Oh yeah! You'll never see! The WT Society obviously would prefer us not to wear jeans and what not but what ya gonna do right?
I never heard about not wearing brand names but wearing that stuff to kingdom hall cleanings and all used to get some kids in trouble.
