Inadvertantly I became aware of this material. Astounding is all I can say!!!! I omit the 'body' of the article for brevity sake.
The Day of Jehovah - The Third Day according to Hosea!
“Come, you people, and do let us return to Jehovah, for he himself has torn in pieces but he will heal us. He kept striking, but he will bind us up.
Hosea 6:1
1 As we have seen in last week’s study article, in the midst of deflection against God in the days of Hosea, Jehovah raises up a prophet to declare his undying love for the nation of Israel and Ephraim. As stated in the first verse of this chapter of the Hosean prophecy He declares that a timetable has been set to restore and rebuild the great nation of Israel. God would not abandon them forever. They would stand and prosper. Yes, Jehovah would ‘heal’ them. He would ‘bind them up’, as one binds up a lamb that has been torn by the wolves. He would nurse and heal and bring back to full favor those persons who continued to trust and love Him as Savior
. Hosea 6:1; Isaiah 55:7; Jeremiah 3:222 Now we consider the fulfillment of that prophetic time, and how it applies in equal force today, among those who have taken on the mantle of Ephraim. There is an exciting secondary fulfillment, yes an antitypical application that makes us rejoice that we dwell in the ‘light of Jehovah’ in these days. The key to unlocking the understanding is in the second verse of that chapter of Hosea, recorded nearly 2800 years ago in Samaria. There we read the heart-stirring words of hope; “He will make us alive after two days. On the third day he will make us get up, and we shall live before him.” Just how could these words apply today? Among those who have taken refuge in Jehovah’s arrangement for salvation, among his people ‘called by His name‘? In a sense, our God is roaring forth with understanding that is new and clear in the midst of a world confused and hopeless in it’s expectation. May we listen carefully to the words and the meaning as revealed for our day.
Isaiah 43:10,13; Jeremiah 25:30
3 Just how will this great ‘healing’, and ‘binding up’ occur? Are God’ people today ‘torn’ as by wolves? In the sense that we have long anticipated and at times have misinterpreted what the Bible says about the nearness of the ‘end of the system of things’ individually, to that extent we may feel torn indeed. Our human frailties often cause us to put unfair expectation of events that seemingly indicate that the ‘days have drawn to at close’. In the modern day era of Jehovah’s name people this unfortunate speculation has lead at times to those individuals, so distraught with what they thought were clear indications of the ‘end’, that some lost heart and even left Jehovah’s modern day ark of salvation. Looking back, we see that it was not the failing of Jehovah, nor of his chosen ‘slave’, that lead to such heartbreak. No, it was the needless speculation for a quick resolution to this evil and oppressive system that lead to such. How regrettable! Often in history the marvelous outworking of Jehovah’s purpose has been misinterpreted, even ridiculed. Matthew 9:23-26 is an example of that we could consider when you have the time to contemplate how easily one can be faithless and in disbelief. It even affects Jehovah’s servants at times.
4 Now, let’s carefully examine the words of Hosea in chapter 6 and verse two. Just what are the ’two days’ and the ’third day’? Well, since we know that the ultimate fulfillment of Hosea’s words come with the revelation of Jesus as Messiah, and even the establishment in heaven of that rulership in 1914, it must have to do with the timing of the events of Jesus as King in the heavens. Using the Bible’s rule of ’a thousand years is like a day’ to Jehovah, what can we discern? The establishment of the heavenly kingdom in 1914 is an established fact, it cannot be denied. That establishment came very nearly at the end of ’two days’ time if we count from the time of Christ’ becoming a Jewish man. Like all Jews he would have celebrated his fourteenth year of life with a celebration of manhood, much as is still done among the Jewish community today. That would have occurred, as best Bible scholars can determine, in or around the year 14 CE. Counting then forward 2 days, or two thousand years, would bring us to 2014, precisely 100 years after the inauguration of Jesus on the heavenly throne, a time that would amount in the heavens to just a few hours as reckoned by men. But ample time for the word to forth of this established kingdom. Now with the two days since Jesus coming to manhood passed, the fulfillment of Hosea can begin. Hosea says that on the ’third day’, which would commence in 2014, sometime around October, ‘that he will make us get up’. This reminds us of the words of Jesus when he stated “Lift your heads up, for your deliverance is getting near.”
………
23 So then, are we saying that the year 2014 will mark the absolute start of the ’greatest tribulation’ man has ever seen? The fall and destruction of all the system that we have hated and detested? We are not saying that, brothers. And be careful that you do not say it either! But it could! The prophecy seems to point in that direction, doesn’t it? All the indications are that it is time to get our houses in order. The time is ripe for harvest of those sheeplike ones that remain on the earth. This is not the time to plan a career, to raise up children, or to spend one’s time in the mundane things that make up this world. No! Now is the time for action. Jehovah has revealed it. May we pay attention to it, and live!
