I was peacefully reading an old copy of Stephen Cox' article "Can the Truth survive the Internet", and all of a sudden I realize that the instrumental music playing is the d*mn Kingdom Melodies. It was actually pretty good. IT was that instrumental cd released sometime back with a lot of harp, piano, and woodwinds in it. Not too bad - you had to listen close to pick out the KM under the instruments.
I started to go to the counter and request they took it off on the grounds that it was 'offensive' to me. Then I thought better of it. As a witness I always felt uncomfortable around Christian music [now I love it], and I realize how closed-minded I was with that. So I did not request that it was taken off. Besides, no one but a former witness [or current one] would have any idea what it was.
I know how it got there too. The coffee bar had employed a witness sister for a while, and she must have brought it in, prob to counteract the Christmas music they often played. When she left the cd stayed. She prob thinks it will help to convert someone someday.
Anyway, I was proud that my mind is now wide enough to accept listening to it without triggering any anger.
I just wish I could sneak a copy of Amazing Grace into the hall. That would give a start when they were preparing to sing Kingdom Melody # 14.
