I'm a self-loathing messy person. The neat freak inside me is always disgusted by my general, I'll get to it later attitude. But I am clean, just rumpled. Always have been.

    Jt Stumbler said,

I did'nt think girls could be so messy.

JT...my daughter is terribly messy....but when she finally decides to clean, it's absolutely marvelous. I was always one to keep my room neat and tidy.

I guess I tend to be a neat freak but, my husband and boys are not....I constantly go behind them as they strip off their clothes from room to the next, and pick up other things they leave behind.

I don't think I'd say I am a neat "freak". I like things neat and tidy, but it doesn't always stay that way! I used to be a pack rat - but just last month went through my place and got rid of a whole ton of stuff!! Much less clutter, nice and simple now, nic nacks sent to the thrift store - somebody else can do the dusting now. I do start to freak out though when my hubby continually makes messes after I clean up! It drives me nuts - I spend hours cleaning and putting stuff away and he's home for 5 min and it looks like a tornado went through the place. He's always been like that - I just wish my mother in law had of warned me BEFORE we got married!

I'm a neat and tidy person. Things may get a bit messy sometimes but then I get caught up and clean it all up. I just can't take being with slobs...drives me insaneeeeee.

I'm with Daystar, I can live with a little mess in the bedrooms but your bathroom and kitchen must be clean. Nothing is worse than a dirty kitchen and bathroom, I'm not always neat but those two places must be clean.

I'm neat but not a neat freak. I once dated a musician who had the messiest, nastiest house I've ever seen. His bathtub was so black you would have sworn somebody had cleaned a car engine in it. His van was a mess too. It was piled so high he would have to move things out of the front passenger floor board so I could get in the van. When he would open his passenger door, stuff would just come falling out. It totally got on my nerves. But, he was/is a terrific artist and a pretty good musician/singer. I dated him for 18 months and it did not get better. Needless to say, we spent our nights at my apartment.

Tell your boyfriend that a messy house is an invitation to crawly critters. Mice also.

Ewww... I agree, that is a good tactic. I keep bringing up the fact that leaving things like FOOD and CRUMBS around is going to attract bugs and mice. Sick! He was cooking and spilled some tomato soup and JUST LEFT IT THERE for like a day! I asked why he would leave it there and he said he was tired. Okay, I can see someone being tired and all... but no matter how tired you are, if you spill FOOD, you should clean it up! It's not like if you dropped a bunch of papers or books or something and said "Oh, that's okay, I'll get it in the morning." It's understandable to leave books or papers around if you're tired, but not something that will attract CREATURES like food!
