Can a Sexual Predator Be Cured?

The State of California is conducting an experiment by releasing some sexual predators, who have undergone treatment at a State Hospital into some communities. One such example is Cary Verse, who is now in Bay Point. Convicted of sexual assault of three boys and a man and treated in Atascadero State Hospital, he left treatment in Feb. 2004 and is now on conditional release. He works at a rug cleaning business, now owns a car and attends Kingdom Hall on a regular basis. He has found friends, but apparently most from Jehovah's Witnesses.

And this is the best part. He intends on finding a wife at Kingdom Hall.

"The homosexual part of my life is non existent," Verse said. I suppose, by that, he means that he is no longer overly engaged in homosexual activity. In the next breath he says: "A girl I get involved with will have to be bery open. I'm going to be attracted to guys forever, and she needs to understand that."

I wonder what girl will ever fall for that?

    NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Highest recidivism rate of any serious crime.

Recidivism is the act of a person repeating an undesirable behavior after they have either experienced negative consequences of that behavior, or have been treated or trained to extinguish that behavior. The term is most frequently used in conjunction with substance abuse and criminal behavior. ...

A good start would be by court approved castration.

Castration doesn't work because this is mind-driven thing more than sex driven thing.

    "Conditional release" what's that ?

"Ok you can go now as long as you don't rape any little boys"

    "Ok you have my word"

    Give me a f****ng break.

The people who release these people back into the community don't have to pay the consequences when they re-offend.

I'd like to see them put something back into society. Using them to test drugs and chemicals on would be a good example.

Alas, I do not think they can be cured, which is why much more attention needs to be given to why someone becomes a predator in the first place. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, really fits here.

Any woman who would marry a homosexual man is certainly taking a huge chance on her psychological well being as well as his.

    Did you see these parts:
"He's just another brother," April Town said.
"I didn't know a lot of the details," she said, sweeping the concrete. "I said, 'Well, you know, if the elders think he is spiritually honest, then you give him a chance and act with caution.'"
    His crime:
Verse was convicted of adult charges of assaulting four males from 1988 to 1992. He assaulted a 14-year-old when he was 17, a 17-year-old when he was 18, another 14-year-old when he was 19 and a 23-year-old when he was 21. This part blew my mind:
Verse's closest friends and congregation members, Marlin Town, 21, and his wife April, 19, bring their 1-year-old daughter, Kalie, with them whenever they spend time with Verse. Both said it never concerned them at all.
I wonder how they would feel if they also had a 14 y.o. son? Trust the elders? Yeah, probably, I've seen it happen. *bleh*
