Greetings!
Like many people, I have been a littlle puzzled by the actions and rhetoric of Iran's president, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in the face of what is beginning to seem an inevitable outcome of a U.S. led military intervention in Iran's sovereign intention to develop nuclear technology.
At first, I figured his comments regarding Israel, etc. could be dismissed along the lines of President Reagan's calling the Soviet Union an "Evil Empire" but then recently I learned that President Ahmadinejad actually holds very strong messianic beliefs which might explain why he seems eager or at least willing to allow the present crisis to develop to that point.

I think this juxtaposed against President Bush's own strong convictions in providential authority raises very interesting concerns.
