. . . attributed to the Chicago Tribune?

This article was written by a journalist with the Associated Press, it's been showing up in lots of newspapers and magazines lately. The AP is everywhere and gets published in a lot of different publications, that's why it's been showing up in different newspapers and magazines all over the place.

It's pretty awesome that this issue is getting lots of attention, though, the WTS doesn't get nearly enough bad publicity in mainstream media. Now, if we could only get this article published on some major news homepages, pages that lots of people frequent, like MSN.com, think of the exposure it would get!! It's time that the rest of the mainstream world heard about the doublespeak and doublethink that the WTS practices to keep its members in line, this has got to come to an end sometime, but nobody can stop it if they don't know about it.

the question I now have to decide is to challenge her view of this or not

RINGO5, it will surprise me a lot if jdubyas with any thinkability, even if they misuse it for WTS interests, don't read and study the news articles in order to learn better how to deal with this issue when confronted with it in field service as many no doubt WILL be confronted.

Perhaps you could use that as a basis for getting your mother to look into the news articles and do some checking in order to be able to prove the news articles are in error should she be confronted with this issue in the field.

I think they have powerful contacts in the mass media that prevent an all out attack against them on potentially devastating issues such as this. The media have kept strangely quiet given the extend of the WTS's abuse against its members.

Alternatively they have a lot of money being a multibillion dollar corporation and can buy silence.

Thanks Frannie. Good point. She’s probably hoping, like many witnesses, that she doesn’t get any questions about this in the ministry. But in the off chance they do get questions about it, they want to have some kind of answer ready so they feel ready to make a defense of their faith. Unfortunately their faith in god is tied up, knotted really, in such a tangled mess they cannot separate it from their faith in an organization.

I will give your idea some thought. First I will have to pretend like I didn’t see it, and to see if she’ll send it to me, perhaps I will even suggest even sending me the link to the article to get her to start using the nasty Internet.

    Thanks
