They should really go for broke and study the Babylon the Great Has Fallen book, I remember as a kid people grumbling about that piece of crap, I bet it would really look like a festering turd in the light of the new millenium.
YIKES!!!! B-a-a-a-a-a--d memories!
My first meeting was attending the bookstudy when they started studying this horrible book!! Stoopid ME, I was impressed at how "smart" all these people were by sitting there "discussing" all this deeeep material!
Talk about gullible.
Well, I just threw out a copy of the Revelation book the other day. I snatched it from my mothers house because I was interested in reading it for some unknown reason. It didn't take me a page or two to realize I didn't want this book taking up valuable space in my humble home.
Yep! Boys and girls, it's true!!! (not the book, the "rumour"). Confirmed and sealed. Recent communication states that study will start in the week from January 8th, 2007!!!
How to deal with the changes in "light"? The problem right now is that many branches have tons of that book (wonder why) and it would mean to scrap all that valuable material , so GB decision so far is: keep the old books, if a branch has to reprint/restock they will do based on the revised version. The folks at your friendly, local bookstudy group will end up with different books, saying different things. But never mind.
I heard even hardcore JW gulp after they've heard this wonderful news. As always folks in Third world countries will do some very, but very creative study out of this - far away from what the boys in Brk intended...believe me this one!
Trojan.
LOL I just told my wife, she did gulp, then told me to quit telling her stuff like that.
OHHHH the joys.
They really need to get some new light on spiritism. Maybe then they can channel Freddy and get some new material.
If they don't study the Revelation Climax again, how can PMJ and JW Scholar get the refresher course they need to keep us all so well informed?

Grand Climax at Hand?
I think I need to hit the Cialis now just to prepare. Unbelievable.

Interpreting
the Scriptures The mysteries locked up in the book of Revelation have for long baffled sincere students of the Bible. In God’s due time, those secrets had to be unlocked, but how, when, and to whom? Only God’s spirit could make known the meaning as the appointed time drew near [i.e. no matter how wacky and weird our interpretations are, you can do no better]. (Revelation 1:3) Those sacred secrets would be revealed to God’s zealous slaves on earth so that they would be strengthened to make known his judgments. (Compare Matthew 13:10, 11.) It is not claimed that the explanations in this publication are infallible.[But you must swallow this crap as "among the teachings unique to Jehovah's Witnesses," and believe it in order to be an approved associate -- w86 4/1 p. 31] Like Joseph of old, we say: "Do not interpretations belong to God?" (Genesis 40:8) [Joseph was saying that to claim that his interpretations come from a divine source. Is that what they're saying? That their interpretations are of divine origin but are not infallible?] At the same time, however, we firmly believe that the explanations set forth herein harmonize with the Bible in its entirety, showing how remarkably divine prophecy has been fulfilled in the world events [I'm sure they mean "fulfilled in the Watchtower Society"] of our catastrophic times.***
re chap. 3 p. 15 Things That Must Shortly Take Place ***You can do this by making yourself "no part of the world" that is doomed to destruction. This does not mean adopting an austere, monastic way of life [You mean like life at Bethel?]. It means that while enjoying a wholesome, meaningful life, you separate yourself from political corruption [Like becoming an NGO at the scarlet beast UN?], from greedy commercialism [Like running a "non-prophet" corporation?], and from God-dishonoring religion [Like claiming presumptuously to be representing God?], as well as from violent and immoral behavior [Like protecting pedophiles?].

re chap. 3 p. 15 Things That Must Shortly Take Place ***Oh, how all these "slaves" are expending themselves in order to help the meek ones of the earth to find salvation! (Matthew 24:14; Revelation 7:9, 14; 14:6) Revelation indicates what you must do to benefit from the happifying [LOL, is this even a word??] good news....God had a channel for communicating Revelation in John’s day, and John was the earthly part of that channel [A personal revelation to John is here construed as a revelation through a channel with which John is associated with. Where did this notion of a channel come from?]. Likewise, God has a channel for giving spiritual nourishment to his ‘slaves’ today [This ghost channel which was once associated with John is now associated with......Us!!]. In his great prophecy concerning the conclusion of the system of things, Jesus identified the earthly part of this channel as "the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time." (Matthew 24:3, 45-47) He uses this John class in unlocking the meaning of the prophecy [HINT, HINT, this refers to the book you are now reading]....Those of the John class, some of whom have shared for upwards of 70 years in the fulfillment of these visions, are happy that God’s spirit has unlocked the meaning so that they can explain it to others [God has unlocked the meaning of Revelation for us.....So our interpretations are from a divine source and we can now explain everything in Revelation....so I guess we won't have to revise our views later on because the meaning has been "unlocked"?].

re chap. 3 p. 17 Things That Must Shortly Take Place ***Looking ahead to the troubles that have multiplied on earth from World War I onward, Jesus also said: "This generation will by no means pass away until all these things happen." So the appointed time for executing God’s decision must be drawing perilously close. [Ummmm, well we had to revise our views about that, huh? But that's okay cuz God only unlocked the meaning of Revelation, not Mark] (Mark 13:8, 30-32)
I can go on if anyone else is interested....
No, I think that rumor is merely speculation.
A close contact in bethel has confirmed that we will be studying the Let God Be True book next.
