There are certain aromas that I love. Some comfort me. Others create anticipation. And there are some that drive a craving
Comfort:
- Cream of rice soup
- apple juice from the can. This comes from a school experience. We got a drink of apple juice at school for recess. Since school was a safe place to me, I connect this to feeling comforted and safe
- babies after they have had their bath and snuggle into you
- sheets and towels that are hung outside to dry. Not too many people do that anymore but I could just bury my face in the pile of laundry fresh and clean from outside. (The outside fresh products just don't compare)
- hazelnut coffee - it just isn't coffee without that nutty aroma
Anticipation:
- home made pasta sauce that has been simmering on the stove all day.
- garlic especially when it is combined with seafood but I add lots of it to other foods
- roast chicken with my favorite stuffing
- home baked bread
- anything with cinnamon - lately I've been making French toast with a dash of cinnamon
Cravings:
- banana cream pie - my college was across the street from a candy factory, When they made their banana flavored candies I was in heaven and had to find a pie to buy
- musk - must be that aphrodesiac (sp?) thing
