    What a fun thread!

    10 facts about me:

    1. Married 14 years and I still LIKE the guy!

    2. Two children, girl 10 and boy 5. My children, my greatest joy, my
    greatest aggraviation.

    3. I have a sarcastic and snide sense of humor that most people just
    don't get.

    4. I don't give a damn about, other than what is necessary, that
being NEEDS not WANTS, about status and money.

    5. The defining moment of my life was when my daughter was diagnosed
    cancer. (See number 4)

    6. My spouse has no idea how much money we have in the bank. He
just hands it over to me.

    7. My nickname is the "vacuum killer". I have to get a new one
    every year.

    8. I love strawberry margaritas!

    9. Most people think my Mom is my sister. She was only 17 when I
was born. Married when she was 14 in the 50's in true JW fashion.

    10. I read two newpapers everyday. Woe is the individual that touches
them before I am done reading them.

    Let's see... My 10 facts.

    1) I'm 37 and counting. Considering I was born in Detroit, MI. in the mid sixties you might consider it an accomplishment... ;-) While I was born there I grew up in Fenton and Howell, MI. so that might explain my survival. I'm also the oldest of 4 boys. Though anyone who knew my family growing up would know that we were a foster family that cared for at least 4 mentally retarded kids at any given time over a 13 year period.

    2) I now live in Utah with my 2nd wife... I guess this proves I like to live on the edge. I mean really, now I live around another one of Americas larger and equally nutty religious communities.

    3) In between growing up in Michigan and moving to Utah I had a brief 17 year stint of living in Brooklyn, NY. While in NY I served my time as a faithful true believer at the Big House for a couple of years. Spent a few more years there married to my first wife (no kids).

    4) I have been declared an "Official Nuisance" by the state of New York. This is a long story that revolves around the neccessity of balancing ones check book and making sure that your checks clear.

    5) I have worked as a commercial and a wedding photographer while in NYC as well...

    6) I am an avid reader - enjoying Sci-Fi, hard science, mystery and historical novels as well as history itself.

    7) Like someone else on this board I have over 1300 CD's in a very ecclectic collection.

    8) My current love and wife was met on the "Old H2O" and is known here as Circe.

    9) I enjoy the fine art of xymurgy and love a good single malt Scotch. I currently have a lovely 25 year old Springbank that I picked up in Scotland a few years back.

    10) Finally, on a theological note... I would have to say I am an agnostic with Theistic/Deistic leanings. The wonders of the universe leave me with a sense of awe and I cannot quite shake the idea that there may be some design behind the basics of our universe. My contact with JW's is pretty much limited to family and boards like this on the web these days.

There's more but its late and I'm trying to keep it to 10 like everyone else.

    Bendrr,

There is a book that reveals tons of the trivia that you request. The book is called, CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT. It was published in 1986 by Duane Magnani. I also have a few other books with several qoutes by the WT that will give you a side ache from laughing so hard.

Too bad the JWs will not look any further than what they are told.

    Hello Andee

Nice to meet you - I've seen your posts before (the long blonde hair is a good memory jogger).

    2. Two children, girl 10 and boy 5. My children, my greatest joy, my greatest aggraviation.

I had about the same difference in age between my girl & boy, but I didn't learn my lesson (duh) and added another boy a couple of years later. For a while, I was NOT a happy camper. But he's a sweetie.....now.

I'm sorry about your daughter's cancer. It seems to strike so unexpectedly. I wish you well, along with the rest of your family. There are several here with sick children, once in a while they speak about the medical problems. I think the speak only when necessary about it, but I'm guessing at that.

I hope it goes well for your daughter and your family.
