I'm kinda in the "whatever" class on this, but I know it's got a lot of people's backs up. People who will accept it are in the minority.

With the popularity of tattoos and piercings...

Why don't they just offer a national brand (yes, as in branding cattle)

It'd create a new fad AND serve as ID...

Arggghh. This is the mark of the beast. Everyone with a bar code on the back of their neck.

The big problem with ID cards is security at the actual ID card processing centre. It can never be full proof and I can imagine criminals getting jobs there or at least bribing people that worked there.Professional criminals also have little problem counterfeiting anything.

Also I recently found this ID card and have never been able to trace the owner.

I can honestly say I have never had a disagreement with a national I.D. card. As whether or not I agree with them, I suppose I would need to be exposed to more of their opinions. I've never really sat down and chatted with a national I.D. card before, so I can't say for sure that I agree with them.

Seriously: No, I don't agree with them and would oppose any legislation that I knew about that attempted to bring them here. There are already some attempts to convert to a national (U.S. as opposed to several states) driver's license that would serve such purposes.

It will eventually happen because humans with televisions that air programming owned by major consumer companies are highly susceptible to irrational fears. These companies have an incredible vested interest in knowing the habits of their consumers.

    Respectfully,
