Has anyone had "unsolicited" emails or pop ups (on your computer screen in case anyone thinks they should comment otherwise) from porn sites, without having ever visited any of these sites?

Not impossible that they havent, but not likely. Most porn sites dont install stuff that cause popups. Malware sure as heck does.

Well, spammers can buy or mine email addresses. Viruses can send your email address from other peoples address book to miners. If your addy is in one of those stupid huge mass mailings that people do without bcc, spammers can get your address. If you've posted your email address on a forum, newsgroup, or web site, spammers can get your address.
So, in recap, signing up for or visiting a porn web site is only one of many vectors through which a porn site might get your email address.
