I don't think it will work because transfusions saved a lot more lives than they have damaged or killed. It may appear logical to the naive R&F but it will not go down well with those that lost family members. On the other hand the dubs have lapped up so much the idea of the divine appointment of the FDS they may accept almost anything they say.

jwfacts: Yes, I wonder the same thing, how long can they hold out? I do know that in 1998-99 they had very high hopes for a couple of competing companies that were in trials that looked promising. Those went sour later, however, and I don't know of anything on the horizon.
This may explain why they have made so many changes to their blood doctrine since then. They're not optimistic about synthetic blood so they're looking for another exit.
