What's the basic precept of the story? Is it really about the whole earth being flooded above the mountain-tops for about a year, or is it about something else?
I tend to question all my basic premises, regarding such stories, especially when I was fed them by the WTS.
Stories usually have an underlying point, no matter how simple or elaborate the story. What was the author trying to get at?
