"Appointed By God"

The Bible clearly describes some present day organizations
that are "appointed by God" - who are they ?

    Governments! (Romans 13:1,2 Jerusalem Bible)

The Society keeps repeating the same lie, over and over
again, that they are the ONLY earthly organization that
represents God - while the Bible flatly contradicts
    such a notion.

When faced with this plain scripture, the Watchtower
will claim that governments are appointed by God to
build schools and roads, and enforce laws (while making
it next to impossible for a Witness to be a police
officer). BUT IS THAT ALL THAT GOVERNMENTS DO?
Has the Watchtower been so eager to condemn governments
influenced by evil that they have ignored GOD USING
    GOVERNMENTS FOR A MORAL PURPOSE?

Slavery doesn't exist because governments made it
illegal. The air you breathe is cleaner, in most
American cities, because governments took action
to STOP "ruining the earth"! Likewise, there are
countless rivers , now filled with living fish,
    because governments took action.

I get disgusted when I see perhaps the greatest
moral movement of the 20th century ignored or given
    scant attention by the Watchtower:

    Civil Rights

People braved lynch mobs, vicious dogs, bomb threats,
and jail terms to establish freedom and dignity -
by NON-VIOLENCE. The system worked! Governments moved
on a God-ordained course while the Society built a
    cult structure.

And Social Security? Are there poor brothers and sisters
out there who would starve to death , listening to
the Watchtower's empty promises that the "End is very
    soon now"?

Thank GOD that governments provide for the elderly
and foolish - with monthly checks!

And while we're at it (thank you Barbara Anderson!)
apparently the God appointed governments are disposed to
investigate - and perhaps punish - the Watchtower Society
    in regard to molested children.

    Well, Godspeed!

    Hello Metatron,

    a nice and logical topic!

Maybe the WTS has " memory black holes " .

Btw, did you read my post about ONU, NGO and WTS?

Read what they are doing with " the image of the wild beast"!

Yep, the WTS and the UN are good buddies now!

Remember, we never were at war with Oceania!

    Meta,

    Civil Rights

You missed it. The WTS did tumble to that one. I recollect one of the Elders letters that somebody published started out with something to the effect of '...people these days are likely to stand up for their rights...". It went on to say that this and that precaution should be exercised to prevent legal implications. This follows what is the real importance for the WTS drone-hive: legalisms.

If held to speaking honestly, they likely would have continued with this response "...we find this really annoying, because we step on those rights every time we get the chance; the nerve of those worldly people!!! But we'll get some of them when Jehovah turns us loose on the apostates. Come on judgement message time!!!"

AlanF for WTS ghostwriter; I'm not subtle enough.

    Mustang
