I was like a second mother to my sisters. ; When I was 18 I was df'd for doing the nasty. ; The reason I got reinstated 3 years later was just because I missed my little sisters so badly. ; Didn't miss my parents at all.

Same here, I helped take care of my sisters as well, one of them always tells me I'm like her mom and the best sister ever! The othe one pretty much ignores me.

have twin daughters, ya know, the ones that are shunning me. ; They are 19 years old. ; After they got into the borg, they just dropped me like a hot potato

that sucks, I can't understand why any one would just drop a family member like that, hell my sisiters could kill a few ppl. and i still would not shun them. I'm so very sorry to hear your girls are doing this to you.

I trained as a nurse for 2 years. I was in the RN degree program. I left because I got sick with lupus. Diagnosed myself. The doctors were misdiagnosing me for 3 years. It was a case study on lupus that I had to research for pathophysiology final exam that helped me to know what I had. I miss nursing so much. I met the strongest, most intelligent women I have ever known in my life while in that program. It was also what I learned about blood in biology class that got me on the internet to research some questions about the society's stand on blood which just didn't sit right with me. That research led me to this site and opened my eyes. I am no doing the slow fade to try and keep in touch with my family and a few close friends. I have such a new found respect for doctors and nurses compared to the fear and distrust I was taught by the JW's. They have saved my life 3 times now. Awesome people. Awesome profession. I wanted to be a part of that community so badly. I sunk into depression when I had to leave. Which I am getting some counselling for right now. I still want to go back now that my lupus in remission. But I get tired easily and I'm worried the stress might make it flare up again. Anyway, I'd love to talk to you about nursing some time.

I'm closer to one of my sister's too. Just because we have the same personality type. More in common. The other is a little more high maintenance. But I love them both.

MsMcDucket. I'm sorry about your daughters. I know how painful that can be. Another reason I am trying to fade is to take my son with me. I can't bear to lose him.

I hope someday you get to go back and finish your degree - it sounds like you have what it takes to be a great nurse!
