So, why didn't Jesus write anything down?

If it was gods intention for jesus life to be recorded and put into a "bible".....doncha think Jesus himself would have instucted his diciples to write down everything he said and did? The fact is....he didn't. His parting instructions would have surely included for his followers to make a written diary of his life if such a book were to be a lifesaving guide to all mankind. The one thing he DID say he would give his followers was the Holy Spirit as a guide......not a book.

I think we need to trust in God's divine plan. I think there is something to be said about an exercise of "faith".

No offense meant, but isn't this the same blind obedience programmed into us as Jehovah's Witnesses? With this kind of uncritical attitude people can sell us anything.

Why is it we have come to demand of God, far less than we would of any human?

I have never been a JW or attached to any religion, political party or country. What the bibles and JW magazines say about Jesus is correct. I know because I am that man and I have been proving it and letting others document it for fifty years. I suggest you look beneath the veil of mystery that I performed under and investigate the facts surrounding many hundreds of miracles and prophecies that were automatically performed. When you think or know you are the Christ you set out to prove such a thing and let others sort out the mountain of evidence left behind when you are done. In this day and age the evidence is carved in stone so you cannot reject Christ again by calling him crazy and putting him to death without knowing for sure what you did.

OK, I think someone needs to take a break from the bible.

JamesThomas...no offense taken. I understand what you mean. I also think there is a difference between having men tell you what God's divine plan is and trusting in the God you have come to know personally.

Dear Kristofer, who am I to argue with your personal experience with God.

I'm curious though, did your experience help you to clearly see that which is infinitely vast and without beginning and end, and so then ultimately includes everyone and everything? or has your experience presented the Divine as a much smaller and limited thing separate and available only to a chosen few?

Why didn't Batman himself write a book about his life so that we would know which comic book series and movie he was most like? Oh wait I suppose some of you will respond by saying Batman didn't exist outside the comic books and movies!! Blasphemers

    JamesThomas,
Just to clarify, when I say personal relationship, I don't mean that Jesus is my "pal".
What I do mean is what I have been blessed to learn about God through his aid in my life, through nature and the very life I have around me. I believe, and don't expect anyone else to believe, that the Bible is the best understanding we have along with nature, the universe & cosmos of God. Definitely eternal, definitely vast. I can only hope to grasp a glimpse or shred of understanding. I think Jesus was and is that shred. He is who makes God known to us.

God is definitely not for a chosen few but to whoever chooses to open their hearts and minds.

Either that or I AM a nutcase...which by the way, Batman hangs out at my house all the time.

What makes you pick the 1st century jews idea of god as expressed through Jesus, over other dieties from other cultures? Just curious.

I think there is a reason he veiled the eyes of Mary and some of the disciples right after his ressurection. A lot has to be said about someone who makes the effort to search for truth, to care enough and to exercise hope and faith.

    Search for truth...what truth.....excercise faith...faith in what?

In a book that is full of inaccuracies and symbolism?

Come on now if there WAS a god SURELY he wouldn't have let that happen!
