All cultures have a predicted doomsday. The Mayan have even pinpointed in to the month and year, October 24, 2012. The facts: we know our species on this planet isn't forever, we'll either evolve with better traits or become extinct. The environment causes immediate change to species, such as a mass extinction of dinosaurs giving rise to mammals, or one species becoming separated from the group into a different environment. In general, religion places a god with an element of nature. Now, take into consideration of the possibility of the existence of a spiritual realm with many gods. I was at the meeting today, and the talk was about surviving armageddon. Jehovah sounds like George W. Bush, "You're either with us or your a terrorist". Now we know, in reality, there are more than 2 sides in this War on Terror. Likewise, Armageddon began to sound like a war between the gods, but on Earth. To me, it sounded like a time when two realms will collide and people will have to choose their sides in the war. But remember when I said religion tends to place a god with an element because this will be easier to understand for the scientific community. Nature tends to destroy and create life. Just maybe the Mayans predicted a date for a cataclismic global disaster that will either destroy or change Homo sapiens sapiens to a new genus.

I too believe something will happen to mankind..how I do not know.
I do know that mankind is NOT winning the war against pollution..global warming..disease..shortage of minerals..good clean water..and unpolluted food. Something has got to happen..the earth cannot survive like this. Well..maybe the earth can..but mankind has got to go!..
Yep!..They are doing most of the damage..too busy to care..and if they do it is only half hearted..

We've seen World Wars and before then many different battles have gone on.
Terrorism, which is NOT a new thing - The IRA for example
Then people predicting that this is it...they saw signs...The JW's themselves, Russellites who held to what Charles Taze. Believed and then also people, individuals themselves who predicted stuff. Nostradamist to name one of them!
