Hello board.

Hello to all on this board. I am a none JW and never have been, although most of my family are. The lifestyle I lead has caused me to become a "black sheep" and I am limited to a couple of phone-calls a year, which suits me just fine. Anyway during one of my "catch up calls" with a member of my not to near family, I was quoted to and lectured about the recent birth of my "illegitimate" daughter. I decided to do a little research on the internet and seemed to get distracted when I googled Jehovahs Witness, which brings me to here (via a JW dating site? Which I found most amusing). So hello and what is the deal with this site? Are you JW, ex-JW or people against JW. Reading through a few of the threads I am confused, can anyone inform me?

Most here are ex-JW's, some are still 'in' but have learnt to think for themselves!

Then there's a few JW's who are trying to convert everyone back to the 'truth' Plus a few seriously 'fundie, born-agains' trying to convert us all to the 'real truth'

Others like yourself have family and/or friends who are in the JW's and still others have no connections. So yes, I guess it does look confusing!!

Important thing is that it's a great place to find support and get your questions answered. Have a good look around and enjoy your stay

There are theists, atheists, Pagans, Christians (of all stripes), agnostics, Jews, Muslim (I guess?), and current JWs. The only thing folks here all seem to have in common is a connection of some sort to JW-ism. There are quite a few here like yourself, who've never been JWs but have family, or boyfriends and girlfriends, or in-laws who are JWs.

A lot of people here, myself included, are recovering from the cultish mentality that comes with being one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Welcome! and congrats on your new baby!! Many different types here. I'm a non jw married to a jw who in the recent past joined up. So I am a ubm (unbelieving mate). There are some jw's (only a few) mostly ex jw's, or people like myself who have a loved one in. As for faith? all types there too! Stick around, tell us your story.
