I was actually reading an article from MSNBC yesterday about polygamy and Mormons.

In Salt Lake City, a judge was removed from the bench recently for having three wives, even though bigamy (or in this case, polygamy) is illegal in Utah (hmm, home of the Mormons, imagine that). Apparently, he's married to three sisters and has 32 kids between them all, and he was married by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a fundie sect of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. (Wait, how the hell did he manage to get married three times in a state that prohibits plural marriages??)
I agree with FHN, the concept of polygamy is creepy. Really, no woman is going to want to share her husband with other women, that's just not right, and like FHN said, not all of the women involved in plural marriages are there voluntarily.
They might not promote polygamy anymore, but just the thought of it still makes me really glad that I'm not a Mormon.
