Would Jesus forgive Satan if he repented?

This is one of those incoherrent parts of the whole GOD scenario.

If there really were an all-powerful God that spirtis could know for zillions of years how could he even dare to think he could pull off a rebellion. He would have to really be stupid- an idiot. It is even more implausible that he would be able to persuade a substantial number of other spirits to join him. And why would they in turn follow and cooperate with the Devil? Wouldn't they pretty much have their own evil agenda?

If there IS a Devil than there cannot be an all-powerful God.

But - allowing the scenario given in the Bible - If Satan repented - he would cease to exist. He would no longer be Satan.

Repentance would mean making good all the vast damage he caused and that will be a very long and painful process and they will never be willing to go through it. So it's only a theoretical concept that they will embrace humility and take the long road back to repentance.

This question is addressed by "Christian Universalism," also known as "Universal Reconciliation."

A very concise defintion of "Christian Universalism" was given by Thomas Sawyer as:

" Universalism," in its simple and proper theological sense, is the doctrine of universal salvation; or in other words, of the final holiness and happiness of all humans, to be effected by the grace of God, through the ministry of his Son, Jesus Christ. " Note that while Satan may be out of luck, it seems everyone else may be in. In theory. Then again, we're talking about the imaginary activities of sock-puppet action heros, aren't we?

    Hi DavidChristopher,

    You said:

I'm not sure what you mean by "a man worthy to make that judgement call."

The only judgement calls I am qualified to make are regarding my own opinions about the nature of life and reality. I'm an atheist, but you asked about something that sounded a bit "Universalist" to me, so I offered a little tidbit that might be helpful to you.

If you wanted to learn more about "Christian Universalism," also known as "Universal Reconciliation."
you could begin by looking at the website I gave you, then you could try Google or wikipedia to see if they had any entries under "Christian Universalism" or "Universal Reconciliation." they might, or they might not.
