Thanks to the labours and donations of the R&F they became very rich but they are still a zero when it comes to charity work even for their own. That's what more than anything else gives their game away, not a spiritual but a commercial organisation with a commercial spirit.

Now that really is absurd to think moslem terror groups want an attack on the WTBTS. LMAO shouldn't they be over there trying to convert them anyway? I'm beginning seriously to doubt the existence of the al quiada terrror network anyway. After all these years there isn't one confirmed kill or capture of any of them .

I think that legally the GB can not retire on any of the profits, due to it being a non
prophetprofit organisation.I had always thought that when the WTS winds up, shuts up shop, tells everyone it was all a sick joke that the publishers would each get a portion of the assets. Not so.
"upon the dissolution of the non-profit corporation, all assets must be distributed to other tax-exempt organizations. Again, tax exemption for a non-profit organization means that a substantial portion of the monies are used for charitable purposes. The money is not to be used by individuals for their own gains."
The Aust Bethel requested status as a charity but has not been able to obtain it. The reason is "With regard to charitable or public benevolent associations mentioned above, some stringent conditions apply in order to qualify under this heading. The charitable institution must serve the whole community and not some segment of it. This will rule out, for example, specialised charities and ethnic organisations. "
Of course I am sure that there are ways around this. Maybe that is why the WTS invests in for profit organisations. The individual members can then buy shares in the for profit company and siphon money into it.

but apparently they can take money to develope real estate .I'd like to know how that fits in the not for profit scheme . They can't claim a charity because they aren't a charity anyway , anybody that gets any sort of aid from them puts alot of time in selling puplications and learning their dogma else they won't even get a ride to church . I don't know how these people get away with it . Sure other religious leaders flaunt the money with big expensive homes and fancy cars but at least they do on occassion help some starving people out or something (not exactly sure here) some churches do have homeless shelters and soup kitchens or orphanages . What does the WTBTS do without selfish intent ?

I remember when the Society wanted to purchase the Squibb building. They read a letter to all the congs about how good it would be if they didn't have to borrow money to do the deal. We could send donations earmarked for the Squibb fund. Within a few weeks they bought it with cash on the barrel head. they sent out a letter talking about how Jehovah provides a way to keep the good new of the Kingdom going strong. Can you imagine the money$$$?
Someone here once said the WTB&TS had assets of over $300 billion?? Can that be right? Anybody have any good idea??

That's how much a local nonprofit agency's CEO made in 2004. Is it too much?
