You can just hear the Dub reaction to this

"They should put their trust in Jehovah and get baptised, in the new system no one will need wigs!"

Frannie, it has to be a minimum of 10 inches and there are some other requirements. Check the website
    www.locksoflove.org/
all the donation requirements are listed there. Many hair salons know the requirements too.

I have known JWs who donate hair. When the brothers complained about me attending meetings and sitting in study without covering my bald head, two sisters donated their hair in my name. I suppose it was a kind gesture, only I didn't wear wigs because my head was too sensitive.

Since then, I do know a few other sisters who have donated their hair for Locks of Love.

Certain salons offer free or discount haircuts for the hair donation.

    Thanks, yall!

I went to the "locks of love" site and it just needs to be a 10 inch ponytail or braid. Just a few more months for me, perhaps.

Thousands of JWs "contributed" their hair during WW2 in concentration camps - not too many other "Christians" obliged.

Stupid comparison to what is being discussed.

Brooke, how long is your pony tail? My g/daughter just measured mine and it's 9 inches. Gotta wait a coupla more months here.

In the fall of 2004, I donated my pony tail to locks of love. My hair was down to my backside cleavage. I asked them about split ends. They said they have something that bonds them back together.

I haven't had my hair cut since then. It's about 8 inches above my waist. I suppose maybe I'll donate it again when I decide I must get it cut. Unfortunately, my job required me to wear my hair in a banded pony tail, so lots of my hair broke off at the pony tail line. Now that I've been laid off, I am going to try to find a job that does not require a pony tail.

I have about 7 or 8 inches right now. I am sure by Sept or Oct I will have 10 inches cut off. Brooke

Thousands of JWs "contributed" their hair during WW2 in concentration camps - not too many other "Christians" obliged. ----Funny how that number keeps changing through the years. Why don't you start a thread about that? This topic is about people who have cancer and lose their hair and the kindness of strangers help them through a difficult position to be in life. Before you do that you may want to look up the letters sent to Hilter by the society first and see what really happened.
