Anyone got any good ideas on starting a business on the internet?
I've been doing a bit of buying and selling on ebay and seeing some of the zany ideas people have got.
I'll have a lot of free time soon as I'm being made redundant. I'm not worried about that as I'll easily get another job,
but I'm just thinking something could be done part time from home.
So any ideas? The more bizarre the better - it's called "brainstorming"

dunno, ebay seems to be the lowest investment/greatest profit ratio unless your able to get into some technological field. good luck.

I bought a piece of equipment for my hifi on ebay the other day and before biding, I watched every one of this particular model that came up. What I noticed was that one guy was selling a whole load, one at a time with a very professional looking advert. And then I noticed the same guy was also buying the same product! What I came to the conclusion he was doing, was effectively controling the lowest price his own items were selling for by buying up any that went cheaply, and relying on having a very good advert to make sure he had a good chance of getting a better price.

Yes, but don't get me wrong... as far as I know he wasn't bidding on his own auctions... he was bidding on and even buying from other sellers the same product he was selling.

I have 2 get rich quick on e-bay packets , anybody interested ? LOL I read thru them it was just exploiting cheap labor to make cheap products to auction off to people that are addicted to the auctions on e-bay . By the time you are done with all the hiddens costs of automated auctions and e-bay charges I really don't know how anybody can make a dime off it . Like I said to the pawn shop people if there really was anthying to it I know the pawnshops would be empty .

I don't know what your income expectations are. Many hot business ideas fizzle out on the internet- good ideas get copied and squeeze your profit.
I just made $250 today selling a neighbors ham radio tower on Ebay for him- The tower belonged to the previous owner and my neighbor just wanted it gone- I sold it on ebay for $500 and we split the money 50/50. The secret is getting stuff for free or selling for a big commission. Old magazine, books, records,vintage clothes,etc, that get thrown in the dumpster after the death of a relative are often free for the asking- people buy this stuff for $$. Minimum commssion for selling items is usually 30%- you take the pictures, do the listing and the final packing/shipping.
