I still don't understand what a DC is, vice a normal meeting, is there any where I can go to find out the meeting structures and commitments for the members
It's a regular JW meeting times five, with Jehovah's Witnesses from all around the district assembling at some large meeting place. The music is still canned, the schedule as punctual. The handbill is printed on cheap unfolded paper, and is the same program all through the JW's. Various JW's in good standing will be called upon to participate in various speaking parts and testimonials. Some publication will be announced on the second day, resulting in a general stampede. On Sunday there will be a Drama with bad acting and lousy lighting.
There's lots of jobs to do from janitorial to watching the donation boxes. The men get the neater jobs like supervising the baptismal tank and cruising the hallways for Apostates.
This is a key social event for single JW's, who will be cruising the hallways dressed in their best.
Think Billy Graham crusade without the glamour and no altar call.

I am thankful to you all for the information that you are providing here. I am still 'drinking through a firehose' trying to learn about the theology and the organization (which do not necessarily seem to go hand in hand).
I guess they really think that people will actually come to these things especially with a kooky, cult-like title to the talk. Maybe some who receive the hadbill will ask if they should bring nike sneakers with them so that they can fall "asleep" and wait for the comet to come.

Do they all happen at the same time across the country?

Huh? I thought they were free. They use the word "contribution" but clearly it is a price....unless there is a disclaimer I'm missing that says it will be sent for free?
