  OK! I sympathise with all of your assembly traumas

  HOWEVER, I bet NONE of you can beat the half an hour trek to the car park before and after, the Twickenham assemblys with 15 minutes of the walk being right by the open sewage treatment plant.

  MY GOD!!!!! The smell still haunts me now! Though it was for only five days in a row it was bloody awful!

  Yeah, I remember as a kid we slept once in a rented sports hall (basketball or so) and everybody had to do their bed, mattress on the floor....it was a mans sections, woman and children had to sleep at another place (I had to go to the mens section with 12 years.........so I couldn't see all the sisters running around in sleeping clothes.....). At night you could hear all the farting and snoring......

  .....I also remember that at one of those conventions, some other kid and me went on to play with some buttons inside some technical room (we where bored) only to find out the other morning that we turned off the heating system for the hall (in midst winter) and 200 brothers frooze their butts on the cold stone floor.......They where looking for the guilty ones, but never found out....

  Wow! I've attended the 8 day assemblies when I was a Kid. I remember sitting at the old Roosevelt Stadium in New Jersey "listening" to the program when all of a sudden the lights and power in the stadium went off. They came back on not too long after that, but I remember the buzz around the stadium was that it was Satan who was cutting off the power and lights to prevent Jehovah's word from being told.

  Naah, only some kids playing....like me.....you can call them little devils...but that's how far you get.....

  ......or was Satan playing on the heating system, too, to prevent some old dudes to get some decent sleep?
