I have been to Blackpool... but this is about 6 hours drive away on the south coast - in Dorset. The posh persons Blackpool! cough cough
lol
This is basically a big town on the coast though, I still would prefer the tranquility where you live.

My great grands were from a small town just out of Blackpool (haslington) and ran a fish & chipper on the pier for about 20 years (1905 - 25)
My maternal grandmother moved back there in the early 70's and has disappered under mysterious circumstances .
