    Hi New fellow Robert,

Yes your right many JW who become inactive will for years hang between being JW minded and outside worldly wise. They stay caught between both worlds because the refuse to read information on JW's and still cling to the idea that JW are god's anointed followers. Of course it is pure nonsense, but unless the read up in the history of the JW they can stay stuck forever.

Hello and welcome, RobertEnjoy the forum.

Strange feeling, isn't it? To want your JW loved ones to be almost anything but what they are...

I have been traversing a wild, weird, wonderful path since leaving, and am now a Christian. I had never quite thought of it in this way before, but I can honestly say, on relection, that I think I would have a much better relationship with my mother if she were an athiest or agnostic rather than a JW. Hmmm....

    Welcome.

Helping people out of cults is an art not a science. Before you talk can try to open their eyes to their cult, you have to understand cults.

I recommend Combatting Cult Mind Control and Releasing the Bonds both by Steven Hassan.

Just remember, nobody can "get someone out of a cult". The best you can do is try to help them have a different perspective, and if they are willing they will walk out the door. No matter how long they have been in though, there is a part of them that will always yearn to be free.
