If anyone want's to try it I would suggest that you first read the "rules" so you can play their "game".

Then you could go to the elders with a story (if it is fabricated or not wont matter). You can tell them that you where watching porn before during and after your baptism, you can say that you are distraught because you know deep down you never really got baptized and you hate living a lie, you never even gave your life to Jehovah in prayer... You just gave in to peer pressure etc.

Then if they decide to "grant your wish" you can start to fade instead of making progress towards your "real" baptism.

It is dishonest I know, but why play by their rules?

I don't know if this works in practice but it think it would have the best chance of working. I don't think bringing up doubt and reasons you don't believe anymore is going to help, that might just reveal the truth, that you are trying to escape without being DFed.

Good advice COntr013r, that would work well I think, (?), once the BOE has accepted that your Baptism was not valid, they can hardly back-track and DF you.

I know of one young lady who got her Baptism annulled, claiming she was mentally disturbed when she did it !

Good for her, it enabled her to talk to her JW family and get her parents out !

What interests me is the stance the JW Org takes, as mentioned by the O.P, that if you have taken on any "position", your doing so is the same as Baptism. How does that work ? does the Bible say that ? no it doesn't, as with so many of their Man-made Rules. It is ludicrous.

This would be interesting to try. I've long thought my baptism wasn't valid because I was kind of pushed into it. My COBE (then Presiding Overseer) asked me at 15, "Son, why haven't you got baptized?" My response: "I don't know." "We have an assembly coming up. If you want to start the questions, we can get you baptized then." "Okay..." And that was that.

I lied when they questioned me on if I had dedicated myself in prayer to Jehovah. I didn't quite understand it at the time. Why should I have to tell him? He can see me, right? He should know my heart and if I'm dedicating my life. Anyways, after I lied, I did a brief perfunctory prayer to right my lie. Other questions I answered plain wrong because I didn't know the answer and wasn't thinking with a "spiritual" mindset.

I often think that if that conversation never happened, I wouldn't have been baptized until much later, if ever. Because once I got baptized, they made me feel useful with lots of chores and responsibilities. I got the big head, enjoyed serving, and kept reaching out for more and more.

Once that dried up and I realized that they were only so good to me because of what I was willing to do for them, I started seeing things with a different perspective. Regardless, I now wish I never got baptized.

Yeah, if anyone tries please let us know how it goes.

One of the reasons it might fail is that the elders manual makes it very hard to actually pull it of. And if you say all the right things and manage to persuade the BOE, they are then supposed to call bethel for future instructions. So they might not grant it even if the BOE think it needs to be annulled...

It is important that you where sinning before and during the entire process because that is proof that Jehovah could not have accepted your dedication to him.

Don't forget to read everything about this before trying it, the elders manual is a good place to start.

No baptism w/in the WT organization is worth more than a bucket of warm spit anyways....the JDubs do not follow Jesus statement and instructions on what would make a baptism mean something: (Mt 28:19).."baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the holy spirit(ghost)."--- (Strangely many other religions get this part right....go figure).--- Annulling it would simply be making an issue over a non-issue, it never meant anything except in the minds of misled WT believers in the 1st place. By the time you realize you want out, you should be aware that all baptisms w/in the organization are just a wet joke/dream.

I feel any letter is playing into the wts Pharisees way of doing things; a quasi legalistic way.

I never received any card or letter of 'welcome into' etc when I was baptised and nor do I owe the wts any such because I have left.

It's funny seeing this thread resurrected 6 years later. I commented on it more extensively then than now. Then I had only been out 2 years, now it is 8 years.

This subject of recognizing my JW/WT baptism. I married a Catholic gal 4 years ago (we were just dating 6 years ago). She has gone through the process of getting Annulments of her 2 previous marriages. Her final step in being a good little Catholic is getting OUR marriage recognized in the Catholic church.

How does this tie into this thread? Because I had to go in and be interviewed by the parish priest. Nice fella. Then and there I told him I am no religion, not going to be Catholic, but that I no longer recognize my JW baptism, but there is no mechanism for annulment. I signed some paperwork, vowed loyalty to my wife, and off we went.

My wife just got the letter back from the Dioscese today recognizing our marriage. They have a very legalistic system, could school WTBTS. Lol

So the dubs can kiss my pale, white ass.

Other questions I answered plain wrong because I didn't know the answer and wasn't thinking with a "spiritual" mindset.

Pronomono's post made me smile because I got a question wrong in the baptism questions. Guess which one? I answered that people were disfellowshipped as a punishment for wrongdoing because that's what I though the paragraph was saying.

The elder said no, no, no, they are disfellowshipped as an act of love to bring them back to the congregation. He asked if I understood. I said I'm sorry but I don't understand it, it still seemed to me people were being punished. Follow what your brain tells you is the obvious truth, I do now.

I think sending letters to the BOE is a waste of time, especially now in 2015.

ANYTHING that says "I don't want...." is, and can be construed as, "Pull the bar down, drop 'em" (Like when the floor opens, and you drop, haha) This borganization has become like a heartless machine. Elders go to elders school to learn "rules."

I simply don't go to meetings, and my mom treats me in a self righteous business type of way. "Yes, any thing else?" as if she has only met me a few days ago.
