Heh, heh, only if I were leaving town...

Serisouly, I once lost my companies bank bag full of weekend recipits...short story, left my briefcase on top of the car, then took off down the road...after I got to the office while looking for a rope and stool a fellow called up...said he saw the case slide off the car roof and wanted to bring it to me...yes, he had to look in the bank bag and thumb through about nine grand in cash to find a bussiness name...this guy would not take a reward, told me to "remember an honest man"...I've never forgotten that fellow...you never know what's going to happen in life. I would have returned the money as well...

A few weeks ago, I was at the drive through at the bank, and noticed the keys were left in the night deposit box. For a quick sec, I thought, I wonder how much money is in there!!!! Then reality set in and I said, more importantly, how many cameras are watching me right now lol. I would never have done it, I told the girl and she came out and got them and thanked me!

If I found a sack on the side of the road with a million bucks in it and a bag of cocaine was sitting on the cash, I would have no qualms about taking the bag home and using the dough for retirement and toys. Actually, I would use some of the cash to take on the WTS in court. Let's find out how far they are willing to go to see if their precious quotes and letters are copyright protected. Yeah, that is the first thing I would do.

Last week I was at Target with 2 of my boys. We had just parked when I noticed in the cart return next to me a couple of store bags, they were full. I went over to them and inside of the bags was a gallon of milk, 2 large containers of non-dariy creamer and a few boxes of instant oatmeal. My 5 year old asked me what was in there and what was I going to do. I did consider for a hot second to put the stuff in my car but then I thought how honest is that and since I do believe that what goes around comes around what would happen if I did?

So I pack up my boys and took the stuff into the store to customer service. I told the guy behind the counter that I found the stuff in the parking lot and he got a weird look on his face, kinda like "I would have just took the stuff" look.

It was the right thing to do and a good example for my kids.

But a bank error in my favor? A Monopoly Chance card says that is a good thing to have happen. But there's no way I could keep it. Besides, my wife works part time at a bank.

    I agree with you guys.

I would have given it back,Pronto.

When I was in college I worked part-time at a bank as a teller. One day an very well dressed lady gives me what she thought was $10,000 in 50's and $100's. The deposit slip said $10,000 but she actually gave me $20,000.

I recounted the money 3 times and then I gave it back to, telling her that she gave me too much. She looked at the money and called me an idoit and then gave it back.

I asked her to go to another teller and then I called the next customer ( I was steaming mad).

A couple of days later my boss offered a part time job at the bank during my vacations and holidays. She said that It has come to her attention that I was very honest and they wanted me to even stay with the bank when I graduated.

Long story short, the lady was a bank employee from the fraud department who visited all the branches and pulled the same routine.

Honesty not only made me feel good, but it helped me keep my job.

Of course since I was a goody two shoes dub, I gave this experience on the service meeting as evidence of my good morals instilled in me by the Borg.

As if dubs are the only honest peolpe on the earth!
