Not trying to pee on the parade here ... but having multiple corporate identities is a very smart thing to do in todays litigious society.

Our small company, though appearing as "one" company, is actually, for several reasons, three separate corporations.

Especially where there are significant assets involved, there will be multiple corporations.

Although the term "business" is not a term churches (and your local girl scout troop for that matter) like to use, but where ever there is money there is exposure to lawsuits and regulations.

Especially in the case of the WBTS, there is the added element of international issues. It can often be more practical to have the "parent" corporation of a foreign subsidiary to be a "shell" corporation than one of the principal corporations.

There are many legal and practical issues here but the bottom line is whoever has the money wants to retain it. Remember, a corporation is a LEGAL entity even if controlled by a church, NOT a religious one.
