Until recently I used to be just a lurker. But since I began posting, I am finding it VERY theraputic! Seems getting out my feelings, and sharing with others my experiences, and the things I personally have discovered, is helping me ALOT! I just wanted to share that with you so that if any of you are lurking too, we would love to hear from you! It's easy to register, and your personal stories may help one of us as well!!

    Hey, Lady Lib!

Youe experiences are quite interesting, and as you said, we love hearing from everyone! Each story has something helpful to someone here.

Have you tried the experiment yet? You know, (gasp, shudder, forces the words out...) wearing PANTS to the Kingdumb Hall?

Great to hear you have been helped so much! And I echo your invitation to lurkers.

It is good to know that you are not alone. At the KH, elders and the rank and file would like you to think that everyone else is happy and that you are a "complainer."

Every time I come to JWD, I am reminded why I no longer go.

    So true, so true!

I believe this might be the first time in my life that I have been able to expess myself!

Everyday I grow stronger and stronger as a result.

One can only grow so far through listening.

One must also speak what one thinks to feel alive and strong.

If you came from the home environment I did you would know what I mean that voicing an opinion was not a healthy thing to do. And of course in the JWs it is all about keeping quiet.

Yes, everyday I grow stronger because of this JWD experience too.

And that is the whole concept of self-help.

The bonus here is that in typing out your experiences you process them better than just having thoughts roll around in your head. So it is a form of journaling.

The added bonus is you get feedback

seems to be a win win win all around

I feel the stories around here have helped me understand the cult better . I was confused even when I was a study to be one, just exactly why these people behave the way they do and what sort of mentality was involved . Right now I feel as tho I've known the whole lot of j-dubs instead of just one congregation . It just seems the religion brings out the ugly side in people instead of the kind of people that christ talked about as his true followers . They just seem to evoke a spirit of pettiness and judgementalism . I think that is an indication of being in a cult .
