  ASSURANCE OF CONTINUED CONFIDENCE

  OUR DEAR BROTHER AND PASTOR:--

  The little Class of Shawnee appointed me to write and tell you that we passed a resolution assuring you of our steadfast faith in you and your leadings. We got the thought from reading the Nov. 15th WATCH TOWER, the article on "What Course Should We Take?" that you had almost decided that the things we have been expecting in 1914 would not come to pass on time--since you said it is possible, but not probable. Now, dear Brother, if these things do not come to pass until 2014, instead of 1914, our faith in you will be as great as it ever has been, for we believe that you have fought a good fight, that you have kept the faith, that you have almost finished your course, and that there is laid up for you a glorious Crown.

  It seems to us that it would not be strange if the dear Lord would permit a short delay to try the faith of some who had perhaps consecrated to 1915, instead of until death.

  May the dear Lord's richest blessings be upon you. In behalf of the Class, your brother in the Lord.

  At a large gathering of my clan in 1992 I put it to members of my JW family that the latest news/rumour from Bethel™ was that society™ would soon be announcing that they had made a 100 year miscalculation and the new date for the 'end of the gentile times™' was 2014. This scoop had a mixed review. Some were keen, others dropped their jaws and shook in disbelief lol.

  The JW hang up on dates always fascinates me. It's part of their downfall of course. This is also an insight into their perception of a so called "all loving creator". Put a bunch of guys forward as mediators between Jehovah's people and Jehovah himself. Let them come up with a bunch of speculative dates, and then when everyone is pissed off and they've been completely discredited, . . . BANG it all happens in 2014. Wouldn't Jehovah have one sick sense of humour if he let that happen, LOL.

  I have been wondering about the 1914 date and if the GB have stopped mentioning it in literature??

  When was the last time it was really emphasised? Will it be one of those doctrines that they are hoping will gradually fade away and then they can say it was 'new light'.

  Does anybody know about this?

  What you must realise Watchtower is that you are creating enemies. Not opposers, not complainers or murmerers but actual bonafide enemies. Men and women who are motivated enough to do the dirty work and it will only get worse for you.

  We are not an organization, there's no big strike you can make to shut us up. We are not going away! And while these seperate and independant attacks will continue taking chunks out of you, behind the scenes plans are being made.

  Plans you cannot imagine. . . .

  Well, something is in the wind. You'll remember that Sheep/Goat Flip-flop and "adjustment" of the definition of "Generation" in Oct. bzw. Nov. 1995 was preceded by an article series in May on "New Light". Now they've presented the Faithful with another such article. What's it all mean?
