Great job again blondie . You are by far the best poster on this board .

Jesus here referred to a special covenant that he made with his 144,000 spirit-begotten brothers, who would remain "faithful even to death" and prove themselves 'conquerors.'-Revelation 2:10; 3:21.

It seems they are beginning to realize the requirement of martyrdom , that this thing is not about "dying as to the world". I never could grasp that concept . If I do go to the meeting , and I am thinking on this one , I could easily mention other things that jesus said about the world hating and killing them on behalf of his name , the, he that loves his soul will lose it and he that loses his soul for my sake will have it everlastingly, stuff . I am thinking most j-dubs never had to face that so don't think there is premise for their conclusion that there is a cutting off date simply because partakers have dwindled .

12 The anointed are also reminded of something else. Jesus told his faithful disciples: "The cup I am drinking you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am being baptized you will be baptized." (Mark 10:38, 39) The apostle Paul later spoke of Christians' being "baptized into [Christ's] death." (Romans 6:3) The anointed live a life of sacrifice. Their death is sacrificial in that they renounce any hope of everlasting life on earth. The baptism of these anointed Christians into Christ's death is completed when after dying faithful they are resurrected as spirit creatures to "rule together as kings" with Christ in heaven.-2 Timothy 2:10-12; Romans 6:5; 1 Corinthians 15:42-44, 50.

Here they seem to once again imply the symbolic death in that they are baptized into christs death . They seem to want to have two opinions . They are pretty vague as to the current belief . I think revelation is very clear that the 144k are murdered and their blood screams out for vengeance . I mean what part of that can't they seem to understand?

The second resurrection doesn't take place until after the millenial reign and I notice they are still stating their belief that the faithful ones are resurrected during the millenial reign which is contrary to the bible . Rev 20:5 very plainly says after the thousand years have ended not during . Boy I would love to go just to watch the reaction to that comment.

    anyway thanks again blondie.

Honesty: Thanks for your address. If I didn't know better I'd be tempted to think that you doubt my claim of having disassociated myself last September. I will decline your offer of being pen-pals with you, but I have met-up with another ex-JW who uses this site, and if you would like to ask her for confirmation that I am really disassociated, I'd be happy to send you her username, so that you can pm her.

What is the point of this article?

They know that a lot of the Memorial Partakers are self delusional fools who over emphasise their importance by sipping the wine and nibbling the matzo. Some would say that of all 8500 of them, but that is another point of discussion. The Society are desperate to get the number of partakers down so as to answer the critics on the net and to gee up the flock. Think what a shock they would have if the number halved "Gee, we must be so close to the end!"

So they go to town with articles such as this which try to put them off, see p.11 saying it would be "inappropriate ""Signify something that is not true with respect to them".

We shall see, come April 12th whether it has any effect.

Incidentally, am I the only one confused by this discussion of Eph. ch 1? It always seemed clear enough to me, that the scripture spoke of an administration at the full limit of the appointed times - which I once believed to be in 1914. Seems I was wrong then, if Paul was speaking of a gathering which by his day had already begun in 33ce. But that is not the way the verse reads, at least to me.

Yes that's a first class job blondie,

    thankyou, unclebruce.

PS: Please find something positive to say about the WBTS next time for the critiques in the audience. Maybe something like: the Bethel cafeteria serves good do-nuts.

Thank you Blondie. Sometimes, just for intellectual amusement, I imagine someone actually giving your answers in a WT meeting. No matter how I imagine it, I always see it revolving into a small riot, with either the vaccuous flock stomping out, or the sincere questioner being thrown out. "Don't confuse us with facts, Goddammit, that's not what we're here for!!!"

    UnkaBruce,

"Ah, Donuts. Is there nothing they can't do."

8 The anointed share in Christ's sufferings and are willing to submit to a death like his. 12 The anointed live a life of sacrifice. These two statements are just crazy. What about there others that they say have so called everlasting life on earth that they preach about. Do not they not also suffer, submit to a death & live a life of sacifice? Talk about double talking. Bending there minds.

    Hi freddi,
i have tried to get a subscription

Don’t be surprised, even if you were in good standing and going to a KH regularly, you could not get a subscription. Subscriptions were discontinued in 2002. Now if you moved into unassigned territory and changed your name, you might be able to get one. Prison is an option too (smile).

*** km 4/02 p. 7 Continue Benefiting From The Watchtower and Awake! ***
Now that mail subscriptions to the Watchtower and Awake! magazines are being discontinued,

    Those
With Special Needs: If an individual displays genuine interest but lives in unassigned territory, an exception can be made to allow him to receive the magazines by mail subscription.

    ***

    km 7/04 p. 3 Question Box ***

If the congregation caring for the preaching work at a penal institution can supply the magazines to inmates confined there, then an inmate should obtain his personal copies of the Watchtower and Awake! magazines through the visiting publishers. When this is not possible, the inmate may personally request subscriptions by writing to the branch office. Please note that disfellowshipped inmates may likewise obtain personal copies of the magazines as outlined in this paragraph.

    Thanks, Gumby,

The Watchtower is continually praising man and religion for doing such a fine job here on planet earth

What WTs are those? Must be from Russell’s day. Ever since they let Rutherford out of prison, the WTS has been breathing fire and brimstone against all religions, especially the Catholics.

BTW: for my readers, the title of my thread is

    COMMENTS YOU WILL

NOT HEAR AT THE WT STUDY

That means there is no shortage of positive comments about the WTS meeting, negative comments are discouraged. The few visiting non-JWs that have ignorantly tried to say something, even in a tactful way, found the microphone gone and if they continued quietly, were shown the door.

    Hey Room 215,

we have the annual ``don't you dare partake" article

At least it wasn’t the "you must be mentally ill" if you partake article this year.

    Thanks Carla for reading.

    Hi, uninformed

Being a little facetious, eh? (smile) As soon as an active JW posts on here, he/she has stepped away from the strong "counsel" of the WTS. I sometimes wonder if some are plants from the WT headquarters, but I’m sure they don’t even think they are immune to the WTS own words in their publications. I never read a single ‘apostate’ book; it was the WTS own words in the past and present that got me to wondering if they had ever "misrepresented" their history.

    w93 1/15 p. 5 ‘Caught Away to Meet the Lord’—How? ***

When a foreign head of State visits a country, the dates of his presence there are generally announced. This has been true of the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Watchtower has

consistently presented evidence to honesthearted students of Bible prophecy that Jesus’ presence in heavenly Kingdom power began in 1914
. Events since that year testify to Jesus’ invisible presence.

This was the same year the Proclaimers book was published which said:

    ***

jv chap. 28 pp. 631-632 Testing and Sifting From Within ***

Something else that was seen as a possible time indicator involved the arrangement that God instituted in ancient Israel for a Jubilee, a year of release, every 50th year. This came after a series of seven 7-year periods, each of which ended with a sabbath year. During the Jubilee year, Hebrew slaves were freed and hereditary land possessions that had been sold were restored. (Lev. 25:8-10) Calculations based on this cycle of years led to the conclusion that perhaps a greater Jubilee for all the earth

had begun in the autumn of 1874, that evidently the Lord had returned in that year and was invisibly presen
t , and that "the times of restitution of all things" had arrived.—Acts 3:19-21, KJ.

Based on the premise that events of the first century might find parallels in related events later, they also concluded that if Jesus’ baptism and anointing in the autumn of 29 C.E. paralleled the beginning of an invisible presence in 1874, then his riding into Jerusalem as King in the spring of 33 C.E. would point to the spring of 1878 as the time when he would assume his power as heavenly King.

    Hi anewme

It is so important to look carefully at any information given to us by others, even if they are "experts." The Bereans did, they kept examining the scriptures to see if what Paul was saying was true. Although Paul was trained in the scriptures, was personally selected by Jesus, and was used in a mighty way to expand Christ’s teachings, they still made sure. Even if an angel were to declare………..

    Good observation, willyloman,

    Blinking new light alert:

One point too, the other sheep weren’t even officially invited to the memorial until 1938.

    Hey jgnat,

Hope things are going well other places.

Thanks for sharing that account. The WTS tends to focus on Paul’s account which takes attention away from the true beginning and meaning of the Lord’s Supper.

    Interesting point, HB

In a study in the 90's John 11:24 was deemed to apply to the earthly resurrection during the millennium.

    Do you remember which article?

Of course, while the WTS says that the NT is written to the anointed, they constantly apply it to the great crowd.

Yes, Clam, I can remember a sister who would sit in the audience and when they would say that the GC were "companions" she would mutter "dogs."

Thanks, Virgochik, sometimes it is hard to find the time but I have a few helpers with scanning behind the scenes which saves me time.

The drill starts during the memorial for the visiting inactive JWs, DF’d, and students of JWs…can’t get the count off, Honesty.

    Hi Heathen,

Most JWs say they are ready to die for Christ yet can’t even live for Christ. They are told that they will never die and live into the new system without having tasted death. What a shock many are having as old age and sickness has cut them off before the end.

Welcome, justicehope, first post on my review?

Just don’t expand too far. (smile)

    Hey Bluesbrother,

    Administration……government

    WTS teaches a 3 tier government/administration

    33 CE

    1914 CE

GT—when all other governments are destroyed

    Hi, Unclebruce,

Trying to say something nice about an abusive organization like the WTS is trying to say a practicing child molester has his/her good points. Like they are nice to dogs and pay their taxes.

    Hi Cosmic,

Don’t confuse us with the facts……….Hang them with their own words, I say.

Don’t worry, Dune, I always look ahead. I do a first run through when I get the magazines, Then a second run through with my comments, and then the week of I do the review getting even more "inspired." The WTS has to deal with all the people "leaving." There are many inactive and part-time JWs these days.

    Welcome, nowuask,

That’s the problem the WTS has using scriptures written to those with the hope of ruling with Christ to apply to the so-called subjects.

Have you ever looked up their doctrine on who Jesus is the mediator for?

Very good comments, everyone. Get’s us thinking.

The WTS anointed are like the Pharises in Jesus parable recorded in the book of Luke 18: 9-14

9 But he spoke this illustration also to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and who considered the rest as nothing: 10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and began to pray these things to himself, ‘O God, I thank you I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week, I give the tenth of all things I acquire.’ 13 But the tax collector standing at a distance was not willing even to raise his eyes heavenward, but kept beating his breast, saying, ‘O God, be gracious to me a sinner.’ 14 I tell YOU , This man went down to his home proved more righteous than that man; because everyone that exalts himself will be humiliated, but he that humbles himself will be exalted.”
