Can you show me where in the Bible Jehovah forbids celebrating birthdays (or Christmas for that matter)?
These are nothing but manmade rules that just burden their members for nothing, how many birthdays do they know where people got beheaded? Or what's wrong with honouring someone during a birthday? Don't newly weds also get honoured at their wedding receptions and parties?
SO why cant you give her a present everyday of her life. Why wait until the day she was born????

Because she's a kid and there is NOTHING like seeing her eyes light up at being "honored". Yes, HONORED on her birthday. Made a big deal of, center of attention, presents and allowed to pick where we eat... If I ascribed to the Bible, perhaps your god Jehovah would scare me. I no longer think the Bible is more than a nice story... and "Jehovah" no longer scares me.
The silliness about the beheading as an example is just another scare tactic the WTS uses; it no longer has any effect on me.
**off to buy a Father's Day card and a couple more birthday cards for my July kids, July nephew and July brother** So much honoring to do! So much gratitude to express for having them in my life...
