    I DON'T CARE

The lady who wrote this letter is Pam Foster of Pamela Foster and Associates in Atlanta. She's been in business since 1980 doing interior design and home planning.

She recently wrote a letter to a family member serving in Iraq.. Read it!

WHAT'S ALL THE FUSS? "Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet? Well, I don't. I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia.

I'll care when Abu Musab al-Zarqawi tells the world he is sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank that I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts that I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and ---- you guessed it - - - I don't care ! ! ! ! !

If you agree with this view point, pass this on to all your e-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior! If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button.

Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our country.

I am sending this on, but only after I add:

    ME, TOO!

    No offence Fran but

A child who watched an american bomb blow his family to smitherines in the name of liberation could well counter each of these for example:

    The rant:

I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

    The counter rant:

I'll care when cowardly Americans come down out their comfy air -con over the horizon fighter jets and high flying bombers and fight like men instead of killing countless innocents while hiding behind massive egos and even bigger firepower.

    playing a ragheads advocate,

unc who has trouble caring about stoopid/uneducated people on all sides

Excuse me Fran, i've been meaning to say sorry for upsetting you yesterday by calling you a witch whe I saw your 'pagan 100% score' in the religion calculator thread.- I was only playing and don't view 'witch' as a bad word at all - some of my best friends and close family are witches. Anything that self-empowers a woman is alright by me (except maybe leaving a dead horse in my bed

    cheers, unc

ps: I was more worried about saying "surround her boys" lol

No worries, Unc. You didn't upset me at all. Matter of fact, I was TRYING to tease back, but my sleepy/grumpy alter ego kept interfering and I finally had to shut down and go back to bed.

    As for......

    playing a ragheads advocate,

What were the crimes committed by the innocents in the World Trade Center? Their crimes were their various nationalities and religious persuasions not being Muslims, I think. They didn't deserve what happened to them either.

No, they didn't deserve what happened to them. But I'm pretty sure the people Uncle Bruce was speaking for in his counter rant were Iraqis - who had nothing to do with 9/11.

welll ill be damned.... i musy say, I DO CARE! i aggree, what happened on 9/11 was a terrible crime... ill also agree that we need to find osama and have him put to death, if we can be sure it was him... (before you yell, i know it was most likely him)... and that is where the I dont care phenomenon ends... this is ridiculous... i mean, are we really so callous that we think to ourselves, oh man, who cares if someone dies... WHETHER OR NOT HE IS ISLAMIC, HE IS STILL A HUMAN BEING!!!! so, yes i do care when a man is killed, no matter what his beliefs are... call me a romantic, or a candian for that matter, but im really not sure i believe in capital punishment... and i surely do not believe that any soldier has the right to spit on someone elses beliefs... i mean i hate religion, but will still treat its relics with respect... next, i dont care how much training you get, what makes you thinkits ok to kill someone??? whether or not you are a soldier, why do you think you have the right? i hate war... i hate this stupid war... i hate uneccessary death... so, here goes nothing,

I DO CARE WHEN SOLDIERS DROP A BOMB AND KILL MORE INNOCENTS... does this fix the deaths of thiose who died 9/11??? i'm pretty sure it doesnt... so yes, i care... but if we want to share this woman's viewpoint, LETS PULL ANOTHER HIROSHIMA!!

the infamous one (who hates indifference)

True and that highlights my point which is simply that as much as we'd like revenge it's really impossible. The ranters hit a strong cord with me on a base level but did nothing for my 'secular humanist' head. lol

The perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks got away with murder just as Stalin, Hitler and numerous others have and will continue to get away with repugnant crimes unpunished.

They got away with it. Hard as it is we have little choice but to accept that. Does the anti-Persian ranter really care about a free and democratic Iraq or just see the rising body count in terms of numbers gained in revenge for attacks these people had no prior knowledge of or interest in.

Any amount of Arab innocents killed (and Iraqis and Iranians are by no means Arabs) cannot in anyway expunge the loss of the World Trade Centre massacre or bring balance to a world unhinged by hatred and suspicion.

Memory of the 9/11 attacks stir up deep hatred for those that carried them out. I'm all for hunting down the terrorists and wiping them out but when I see 9/11 used as a propaganda tool for political/capitalist gain I feel quite sickened, especially when it is used to excuse rape, torture and barbaric treatment against decent ordinary people.

The ranter sees no problem with a big tough US Marine squashing shit into some poor sod's 's holy book .. well, sorry I do have a problem with stuff like that.

ps: an australian produced a revealing documentary last year which highlighted the differences between the way US troops are behaving and the way australian act on the ground in Iraq. While the US boys drive arround on alert/patrol listening to their music via headphones and loudspeakers, just like in vietnam the australians prefer to mix in with the population in coffee shops and bazaars. All the gut in the program did was approach the Americans and talk about where they were from and what music they listened too .. quite fascinating (never put a cowboy and a hip hop rave boy in the same hummer lol.
