Hello again from sunny North Carolina!!!
Our state lotto started today, and I won 15 dollars, and only bought 1 $1 card. So whoop whoop for gambling.
I was in Miami florida last week for the Photoshop World Conference, but I also got to tour the everglades, where I took some beautiful pictures. (i'll host the photos on a seperate thread, as this one has a suprising twist V )
So, I am "auxillary pioneering" this month, and although I'm not going to make my time ( 50 hours) I have been out every day this week.
Today, thursday, is the big day for "telephone witnessing". While every other day of the week there are an average of 4 people out, Thrusdays are always packed out with at least 15 people sitting around a giant folding table, gabbing at each other. It's pretty nice actually. No one is home, so all you do is leave a message, and pass the phone. In the extremely off chance that some answers the phone, they're usually old, or unemployed, and always already belong to a church.
One older brother (early 60s) heads up the group, and he's the master of the cordless phone. Today, he needed some copies made.
So he gave me his keys to the "SECRET CLOSET/ROOM OF COPIES, EXCESS BOOKS, AND FILING CABINETS"...
Wait, filing cabinets? and I had his keys? I just had to open them....
I looked through, and didn't find any congregation files, particulary the ones about me, but I did find (and steal [read: appropriate]) a copy of the form that elders use to report DAs and DFs to the society. Look for a scan to be posted in the next 10 minutes.
Then, to BOTTOM drawer. I opened, and saw the glow of 3, count them 3, copies of the SECRET ELDERS MANUAL.
So I flipped through, and found the one from the brother who just stepped down a few weeks ago. It was full of addendums and miracle notes.
Guess what!
I took it too.
Now, I do feel horrible about stealing, but I do feel that I am at least justified in doing it. And if you don't like it, I don't want to hear about it.
