Blondie (yah, I supposed some people might think i'm an a**hole on JWD and was then too)

LOL - hey steady on blondie ... you aren't openly likening JWD to a Kingdom Hall are you? Surely that can't be right ..lol

    Heart Of Glass

    ....
Once I had a love and it was divine
Soon found out I was losing my mind
It seemed like the real thing but I was so blind
    Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind

    Lost inside
Adorable illusion and I cannot hide
I'm the one you're using, please don't push me aside
We coulda made it cruising, yeah

Yeah, riding high on love's true bluish light

Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out to be a pain in the ass
Seemed like the real thing only to find
    Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind

    Worst WT moment -

I had served as a pioneer for years, served where the need was great for 2 years, did what was allowed of a "sister" and kept my mouth shut when a less then intelligent brother said something sinister, but the worst came when an old elder in my cong had formed a crush on my pioneer partner and was acting rather inappropriate towards her, when I quietly brought it to the attention of another elder in the Hall, I was brought before the BOE and told that I was going to be removed as a pioneer and publicly reproved for working at a grocery store that sold cigerettes (although I never sold them because I worked in the DELI). When I continued to notice the old married man act inappropriate with a young single pioneer, I spoke up again, rather loudly and next then I knew I was again before the BOE and was given a final warning "stop being a Jezebel influence" over the congregation otherwise we will DF you. I left that Hall shortly thereafter. My pioneer partner left the organization some time thereafter and tried to commit suicide. I still believe the old man did something to her, but I doubt we will ever know. Although there has been a turn over of the whole BOE in that Hall, I still think the blanket of silence exists today to the harm of many within that cong.

Field service tops my list but two other instances I will NEVER forget.

When I was about 17 I was "seeing" this brother from another hall. Nothing serious . .he would visit my hall, we would talk on the phone. My mom was pioneer at the time and the elders drug her into the back room after a Sunday meeting and told her that should could no longer pioneer if I was "seeing" the brother from another hall. I was very hurt and so was my mom. My parents made me break up with him.

When I was about 16 I attended a quick build. This elder from our hall was there also (I could NEVER stand him). He came up to me all accusitory and said that someone spotted me making out with another brother at the quick build. I could not believe this!!! I denied it (because it never happened) but the sneer on his face showed me that he didn't believe me.

I swear they had it in for me big time and I could never figure out why.

    Greetings TresHappy

Just like you, bugging people @ their door was the absolute worst for me.
