I'd say 99.9% of my service hours were comprised of rural territory. We lived in a small town, surrounded by rural areas - and had alot of it to cover. I hated working in town, I didn't want anybody from my school to see me going door to door. My friends and I would try and get territory in a certain area - close to a rural resturant that had great french fries! We'd stop there and have a nice long break. The rural territory wasn't all fun and games though - those farm dogs could be nasty, and there was the odd time we had a rifle pointed at us and escorted off the property. Aaahhh what wonderful memories!! lol

Yep, rural territories were the best. We would take a carload and head for the farm country, have a few laughs, stop for a coke and generally piss away 2 hours. We could drive a mile down a dirt road to one house and when a big dog came out barking we turned around and left. "If they are gonna keep a mean dog they can't receive the truth. Their blood will be on their own heads at the big 'A'." We loved to get the car that was holding a rural territory.

I loved rural door to door as well. We usually ran into Amish or Mennonites, who as a whole are very interesting people to talk to. Granted if the JW women went to the door and it was a guy, they would call a woman out to talk to us, then we realized it was because we did not have a head covering. But then we learned what to do and the best part was we decided to purchase these crazy hats which we would only wear when in the Amish area. We looked like loons (because we were loons!)
