    Welcome to the Board, alexjen!

I was raised in the "troof" and realized at the age of 17 that I was gay. However, it wasn't until 23 that I accepted who I was. For those long years inbetween my realization and my acceptance, I kept doing what the dubs said would work. Of course, you know it never did and never will.

The Best advice is to not get baptized, stall it as far as possible, even if they threaten you can attack back with that Jah wants true people in his religion and if your not ready it will look like you got baptized because of the person threatening you.

Gaybeat is absolutely correct. Once you get baptized, you have to play more by their rules. You never get baptized, you never give them ANY power over you. Believe me, you are correct, when they find out that you're gay, you will be treated as disfellowshipped whether or not you were ever baptized. However, if you were baptized, your disfellowshipping means getting cut off from all JW family and friends. If you're not baptized, they can't officially kick you out of their cult, club, religion and you will have a chance to have a relationship with your family.

I pray that you have parents as wonderful as the parents my partner and I have. Both of our families totally accept us. (His family is Catholic.) If you ever want to talk, please feel free to send me a private message. I will be happy to answer any questions or just listen to you vent.

I don't really have anything to add here other than an interesting observation. You notice that a large percentage of the replies begin with "I am not gay but. . ." Isn't that interesting?

I accidentally went to a gay bar once when I had to do dury duty! I didn't know where the place was!
I was wondering why people dressed a bit funny in there! :) But the guy put his arms around my shoulder and showed me the way out! :) He was alright about it. So yeah, I am not gay. But I thought that was quite amusing looking back on it! :D lol

John Doe, he asked a question and we answered it. We don't want the little guy to feel shunned.

Yes, I know Mrs. M. I was commenting more on the word order and choice of opening line. Don't you think it's interesting?

    Hi there and WELCOME!!!

Yes, I am Gay, and there are several people here that are. As you already know, being Gay and being in the "Truth" does not mix well at all. But, in order to be truly happy within ourselves, we need to be who we are, and not let an organization dictate to us how we should be, ultimately denying who we really are.

Do some research here, and you will find that many of us share a lot of the same types of issues of dealing with the organization. There is a good balance here of people from all different walks of life, and you can learn a lot from what they have to say.

Alex my advice is don't define yourself. You might have some fears about being with a woman. It's natural. Your only 15.

You have to live outside of the JW world for a while and be really free

You will learn enough here in this forum to give you the courage to leave the WTBTS because they are not "in the truth".

You don't have to define yourself as gay to leave the WTBTS

    Alexjen Welcome to the Board!

(Noting John Doe's observation) - I am heterosexual. To the Dubs sex is dirty, no matter if you're homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual or whatever. They're the ones with problems - not us! Hope you stick around and it helps you get to where you want to be.

I'm not but I do respect them, I have a cousin which is and my JW wife hates it when I go and see him... This is so stupid how JWs try to convert them and if they dont change then they reject them, It is who you are... They must learn to accept them.
