I think this constant admonishment of saying "the end is right around the corner" will play a significant role in the eventual undoing of the WTS. Hell, when my mom started bringing me to meetings back in 1990-1991 or so they were saying "the end could come anyday." For crying out loud how long have they been saying that now....the rank and file is becoming antsy they want to know...so I am guessing another 1975 fiasco is right around the corner except this time it may be a blow the organization never recovers from.

How else are they going to stem the mass exodous of people leaving??

When I was there in the late seventies they were saying the same ie the end could come at any time and they were very joyful about it. And why go to university or bother about getting a good job rather than preach etc

The WTS will unravel once a good organised information campaign against them is undertaken.

KW, there is a process which most dictatorial organizations go through.
It is well illustrated by the life and death of the Soviet Union. First, there is a Charismatic leader, who is then followed by an autocratic leader or two. That, then, is followed by a self-perpetuating committee which comes to reflect an organization which becomes more and more bureaucratized. As the Bureaucracy becomes more and more entrenched and unresponjsive to change, flexibility is lost. The organization becomes less able to innovate and respond to crisis brought about by environment and time. then the whole thing implodes and come tumbling down around itself.
I am sure you can see Lenin, Stalin, and finally the Politburo in that description of the sequence of events. The story has occured so many times in history that I am not the first, by any means, to see it. An early Sociologist named Max Weber made a name for himself through writing about it.
The story starts with Russell, the charismatic leader. Then came the autocratic Rutherford, who turned it into a high control cult which broke away from the movement started by Russell. He was followed by the laurel and hardy team of Knorr an franz, who were toppled in a coup by the Governing body, which has become more bureaucratized and out of touch. We may not live to see the final implosion, but it is on the way.

I too hope for the fall of the WTS! What will bring their fall? I hope sites like this and others who expose them for the liars they are and for the harmful cult it is. Yay for the Internet!

However that said I wish nothing like as you mentioned the "killing 'em off" if of course you mean that in a litteral way. I know many good people still in the cult and do not in any way want or wish for the death of good people some of which are members my family. I hope sites like this continue to be visited to doubting JW's and read with the eventual "eyes wide open" and add to that hearts and minds so they too can see just how harmful this cult is and they can make their escape from the WTS.

Some things can't be fixed. Their "mistakes" are being conviently covered up by selective reasoning and threats of expulsion along with loss of family, friends and livelyhoods. Shame, shame, shame on the WTS for all the wrongdoing in the guise of a loving, caring organization. The only thing they really care about is their bottom line read $$$$$$$$$$! Shame!
