I have locked your discussion regarding being gay.
I have done this for a couple of reasons
The responses you are getting are not helpful. If you are unsure about your sexuality you would be far better off dealing with this with a counselor or on a discussion board geared towards those who are questionning their sexuality.
This forum is for those who are interested in the Jehovbah's Witnesses (JWs). The Watchtower Society/Jehovah's Witnesses condemn homosexuality. They use various scriptures from the Bible to validate this belief. The only help you will get from JWs is to tell you to stop thinking about being gay, pray, go to meetings and sell thier literature. They are definitely anti-gay and questions will not be welcomed by JWs.
I hope you will find the help you need.

Wow, aside from all the jokes last night this just blows me away. A person comes looking for advise and seeking help from JW's and his response is blaintant gay bashing. Your pathetic religion does not agree with with gays so you condemn them? That doesnt sound like any religion I have ever heard of. I guess there are no gay JW's out there? Thats a nice fantasy. The fact that your a moderator, and someone with some sort of authority on this board is disturbing. Yeah there was a lot of jokes about this last night(and apparently after I left today also) but most everyone was respectful and tried to help(minus that wineskin prick). No one out and said "you are condemned" Basically saying I should burn in hell. Sorry to say that is seriously fucked up. Whether I was gay or not, whether the entire thing was false or true. I always despised the JW's that came knocking on my door, but I would never condemn them for there beliefs, as messed up as they are.

I didn't read the other thread, but do you know that this board is mainly ex-witnesses? Most of us here can tell you exactly what a witness would say and that is what they probably did, but we can say it much more direct then how a current witness would say it diplomatically.

I got that actually, but to condemn someone for a sexual preference? I see why there are so many "ex" JW's here. Personally every JW I have ever known was very odd. But seriously, who could blame them, as children growing up with this religion your forced to believe this nonsense. Most people I knew that had it forced upon them went wild as soon as they were old enough to denounce it and leave there home. I also feel that this religion is not the only one with a screwed up belief system, all religions have there issues.

I've got to admit that your thread very quickly became what looked to be a troll game, and if that's true, well, whatever. Still, just in case your motives are genuine I suggest you look at this page: it's a site for gay JWs (actually mostly gay exJWs because it's so hard to be a gay JW). On this page they're presenting evidence that the bible's stance on homosexuality is a modern interpretation, and presenting the possibility that in the future we'll have a bible that doesn't discriminate with regards to sexuality.

To be honest I can't understand why they'd want to be witnesses if only their sexuality was acceptable within the JW community; as the pain in the world that JWs are responsible for sadly goes far beyond gay-bashing. Also, as I'm now of the opinion that the bible is the work of some literate savages and not in fact the word of god, I don't think it matters much which way a few words are translated, according to the current society's 'moral stand'. Why should we need an old book to tell us what is right or wrong in our own lives, and even if we did, why should that be used to inhibit the freedom of somebody else?

Anyway there is a large gay or ex-gay JW community. A gay JW friend is currently 'fading' but was able to successfully live halfway in the closet while staying in touch with their witness family for many years. Now they've decided to go get a life and I'm so proud of them. It's going to cost them their friends and family though, the same way that it's cost us ours, and so we can at least relate to that flavour of pain.

As there are no actually committed JWs on this site; only ex-JWs or those having to keep up appearances for various reasons or friends or family of JWs who can find support here, you won't find anybody here who gives much of a smeg about what you do with your love. The moderator though, has the role to protect the site from those who appear to be abusing it. If you were, grow up a bit hon. If you weren't, sorry that your thread was shut down. If there is something that you want to talk about, go ahead and do so, but keep it mature.

All I can say is wow.
